Today my burner's decided to take it easy and no matter what software I use it's going super slow. At first it took an hour, but now after an hour it just stalls.

I read around that the best solution is to uninstall IDE channels, reboot and let the system detetch and reinstall. I went into Device Manager and found IDE controllers, which I am guessing is the same thing. There are four of them; do I just delete the highlighted one, or all?

As you can imagine, I'm very nervous about deleting anything that involves running the computer, so I'd love some advice on this matter. I run with Windows XP, if that helps.

Here's a screencap of what I'm looking at: http://kawaii-amethist.net/IDE-controllers.jpg

Personally I would download this first:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B5F726F1-4ACE-455D-BAD7-ABC4DD2F147B&displaylang=en

If that does not do the trick update your burners Firmware.

IDE-controllers... something tells me that is connected to your HDs rather than your burner?
