Okay, so there's a game I own for the PS2 (yes, I know I'm outdated, but I'm happy with my family PS2, as for current-gen I have an Xbox 360, I don't need a PS3... :p). And I want to play this particular game on PC, so I decided to torrent it. Something I generally don't do, not being a fan of piracy, but in this case I already own and have paid for the game, so I should be allowed to download a PC copy, right? Anyway, this is where the trouble starts...

I have the torrented file on my laptop, and I have a program to extract the .rar file so it becomes a .bin and a .cue file respectively. So far, so good. This, however, is where I get stuck. I need to find a program, ideally a free one, to mount the .cue file onto a virtual CD. I can't burn the files onto a normal CD as I have none spare, so I need to get a program for virtual CDs instead. However, the only legal free one I know of is a Windows XP one (I use Vista) and that doesn't seem to work on my laptop.

Does anyone have any advice to help me out? Ideally, a complete rundown of how to download games and actually set them up to play through bitTorrent would be great, but otherwise just any advice to help me out here would be good.

[small]DISCLAIMER: I would like to state here that I am not an advocate of piracy and do not intend for anyone to use any advice given in this thread to commit video-game piracy, or indeed piracy of any kind. Therefore, if the moderators and/or staff feel this thread should not be on the Escapist forums then I am perfectly happy for them to let me know and lock or remove the thread as they see fit.[/small]

PowerISO is a good one. I think it will sometimes scream about registering, but you don't have to.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and see if it helps :D.

Daemon Tools is what I use to mount any ISO or images I am using on my computer on a 'virtual drive'. Works wonders for old PC games where you have to have to have the CD in the drive, and no CD patches result in errors or lack of music. Just rip the CD, compile and ISO and mount it in Daemon tools.

Piracy is bad, m'kay.

Okay, managed to finally get it working with the help of Daemon Tools, so thanks, guys :D. I guess we can keep this thread up in case anyone else has any similar problems (with legal downloads only, of course :p). Otherwise, mods, feel free to lock or remove :).

I see the problem is finished, but I will say my advice:

Daemon Tools is the best you can go, get their lite version though, since you don't want to pay for a program you'd hardly ever use.
