Hey I recently got a new dell laptop and I also picked up Thief: Deadly Shadows. The problem I'm having is the laptop has keybindings set to all the F# keys. F2 turns on and off the wireless internet for example. I can't play the game very well because I can't press those keys without something else happening aswell. How can I turn off those key bindings, so to speak?

Thank you very much for any help in advance!

it can vary.
It's best to just search around in the control panel i guess (in case of windows xp, i know nothing of how to navigate using anything else)

Rebinding the keys for Thief would be easier.
(Not sure how your lappys keyboards set up though, so can't really help. Usually some sort of F mode turns all of those off.)

Hold down the FN key and hit the SCROLL key (found next to the F12 button). worked 4 me.

Yep. The 'Fn' key. There might also be a 'mode' key somewhere that toggles the effect of the F keys, like on my desktop keyboard. In any case, I find it strange that it would be enabled by default.
Hmm then the problem I'm facing would then be that I don't appear to have a scroll or mode key =/

Problem Solved!

Thanks for the help guys.

The solution was to change the system configuration in the BIOS.
