Basically any kind of Metal Band that's melodic, and/or tells some kind of epic tale... Any help on this?

And please specify which bands, albums, and particular songs, please.

Gonna have to agree with Nightwish on this one. Most of their albums are fucking epic.

Coheed and Cambria.

Albums:
Second Stage Turbine Blade
In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
Dear Apollo, I'm Burning Star VI, Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
Dear Apollo, I'm Burning Star VI, Volume 2: No World for the Tomorrow

All four albums tell a single story. There's a comic book that accompanies the first and third albums. The singer's (Claudio Sanchez) high-pitched like Geddy Lee from Rush so keep that in mind as some people find that annoying. As for songs "A Favor House Atlantic", "Time Consumer", "No World for Tomorrow", "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth", "Welcome Home"...the list goes on really.

This is weird since I've been looking for melodic death metal myself not 5 minutes ago and found a few awesome mother fucking bands.

Here are my favorites:

-Just pure awesome

-Take note of these guys. They're an extremely underrated Japanese band and one of my favorites

-You want epic? Equilibrium is the most epic fucking band ever.

-That band is more of an acquired taste. You either love them or hate them

The only metal band that I listen to often is Kamelot, but, coincidentally, they sound right up your alley. Here's their most famous work:

Symphonic metal at its best (if you ask me). Hope this helps!

Is Alestorm the Pirate Metal band?

Nightwish FTW! Definitely look into their older stuff. I can't get enough of Dark Chest of Wonders.

Also, Sonata Arctica. Check out Full Moon, Juliet, Letter to Dana.

Borealis is another favourite of mine. Black Rose, World of Silence, Afterlife

Freedom Call isn't as melodic as the first two, but I really like Queen of My World, and their entire Crystal Empire CD

... I'll stop now.

So, in other words you want to listen to "The Odyssey" by Symphony X? You don't get much more epic or metal than that. Hell, it's even based off of one of the classic "Epics" of Greek literature!
