Point Lookout was my favourite of the DLCs so far. It's the most like the original Fallout 3 (in that it's free roaming with lots of side quests). The others are quite linear.

Operation Anchorage would be my next choice. It's kind of fun, but low replay value. However, you get some of the sweetest loot at the end of it.

The Pitt has a more interesting story than Operation: Anchorage, but the rewards are thinner. However, visually it is very good, and produces a genuinely difficult moral decision at the end.

depends on your preferences really.

I must admit i've only played a little bit of the point lookout DLC so far, so this may change:

1. broken steel/point lookout (broken steel for the level cap removal, point lookout for the setting so far)
2. the pitt (decent expansion, like the original game but simply more of it)
3. operation anchorage (didn't like this one much at all, completely generic battle simulation repeated over and over, i found it as boring as doom 3 after 5 minutes. more of a chore than fun IMHO)

Get Broken Steel and Point Lookout.

Anchorage and the Pitt are both not worth it. They add less playtime and new items than BS and PL.

Sorry to derail this a bit, but does anyone know when the DLC is coming to Playstation 3?

(Apologies to OP)

Anchorage - Hell no.
The Pitt - Short but quite fun. Still not recommended as first priority, as you can easily get the same theme/atmosphere from Red Faction (The original) on the PC or PS2, which is much longer.
And I haven't played Point Lookout or Broken Steel.
