Help with FF chronicles

Can anyone tell me if the 'Final Fantasy Chronicles' release for the PS1 (FF VI and Chrono Trigger) was exclusive for North America?

If it is, will it work in a british PS2 if i buy a freeloader?

A simple wikipedia search would show you that it is America only.

If you can find a freeloader for PS2, be my guest. I don't know any.
