Help with MW3 online.

It's not working. I try to play online and it says connecting for about 2 minutes and then says servers are down. But they are working, they website says they are fine but its been like this for me for about 2 days. I haven't yet been able to even play online. Can anyone help?

Could it be your antivirus software blocking it or something?

No, its on the PS3 and it won't work at all. Thats whats so confusing about it. I know other people who are playing it online but it won't work for me.

If it was antivirus, surely it would block other games, but they work fine.

If it was antivirus, surely it would block other games, but they work fine.

For my old antivirus (Norton, about 4 years ago) I had to put each game on the 'allow' list individually when I first took them online. So I thought it could have been that. Though I don't think that would be an applicable reason if you're trying it on the PS3 so I'll just give up and give you an 'I dunno' and 'good luck'.

No, i'm just trying to play online. I don't even have elite. I just want to get on to the game and play online. It won't even work in the survival mode online either.

Server overload. Happened with BF3, too. Just wait, they'll fix it eventually.

But i have friends who are playing online with no problems at all. And i know it happened with battlefield, but it was the beta that it happened to, not the full game i don't think.

Yeah, I had friends who made it online problem-free too, they were just lucky. You just need to relax and have patience.

I've had patience for 3 days. Wearing a little thin right now.

I'll wait for a few more days, then i'm gonna complain to everyone who'll listen. Thanks for your help.

Are you by any chance using Orange broadband and Netgear router?

Battlefield 3 online was down on the retail version as well for well most of the two days after it was released.

Oh, was it? Well, this has been down for only me for the entire time its been out. Won't work at all. And the games started being pretty glitchy too. It keeps having massive drops in frame rates for a few seconds every few minutes. This is troubling.

This is going to sound stupid, but check your NAT. I say that not because I doubt that you have it set to open, but because I'm wondering if MW3 says your NAT is set to Closed or Moderate. I have all PS3 and 360 ports open on my NAT. All my games say my NAT is open, but for some reason Call of Duty games constantly screw me up. Black Ops says I have an open NAT, yet for some reason I cannot join the party of my friend (even though I can in every other game we own). Then, the other day when I was playing online and noticing that it was taking forever to even find me a match, I saw that it said I had a Moderate NAT. I checked, and everything's still open. So I'm wondering if you're having the same problem I am? And if you are, I feel your pain. Let me know if you come across a fix, because I'm betting this is something on CoD's end.
