Firstly, I do not have this case, so I'm not speaking from personal experience.Yabba said:hey I just bought a cm storm stryker and it came with this 3 pin molex plug, is this normal? I need to know soon though because of the warranty expiration

I beleive it is what allows the computer to be turned on and off manually, I will try to test it outxXSnowyXx said:Is that on a fan? That's pretty common. Some of my fans have 3 pins...I'm not sure exactly how the power is routed but the fourth pin doesn't seem necessary.
sorry if you cant see its the second to the last right pin,you can see through itOneCatch said:Firstly, I do not have this case, so I'm not speaking from personal experience.Yabba said:hey I just bought a cm storm stryker and it came with this 3 pin molex plug, is this normal? Looks like a 4 pin molex is normal. Couple of reviewers not happy about it because of the proximity to SATA hardware slots.

Can't tell from the pic you posted but if you are missing a pin it might be worth contacting seller or something.
Yeah, nah, that's not right. The front power buttons are connected by some small square pin sockets directly to the motherboard, whereas that Molex cable will connect to the PSU. I'd say that's either a fan or a fan controller.Yabba said:I beleive it is what allows the computer to be turned on and off manually, I will try to test it out
Your right my mistake, also I tried doing some research but nothing viable came up though for if its normalxXSnowyXx said:Yeah, nah, that's not right. According to reviews of the case, you're right, it's for the fan controller.xXSnowyXx said:Yeah, nah, that's not right. OP, if yours doesn't look like this then my guess would be that there's something wrong with it:Yabba said:snip
It would probably be ok, but I wouldn't like to do it.Yabba said:I just discovered the cable missing is a grounding cable, can I use it without the cable?
Yes this is perfectly normal, those molex connectors have two grounds in the middle and then +5 and +12V on either side so two currents can be run at the same time without interference, the fan however only needs one at a time.Yabba said:I just discovered the cable missing is a grounding cable, can I use it without the cable?
Im just still on edge because it is supposed to come with 4 pins as someone else metioned earlier in this threadMr.K. said:Yes this is perfectly normal, those molex connectors have two grounds in the middle and then +5 and +12V on either side so two currents can be run at the same time without interference, the fan however only needs one at a time.Yabba said:I just discovered the cable missing is a grounding cable, can I use it without the cable?
For future reference unless you find an extra free cables hanging around a connector then what you see is the intended setup.
