SO I got the new PSP 300 for christmas and I've been playing it a lot but I've noticed a few glaring issues that I'd like to get help with (P.S: these are 3000 specific quirks, my old PSP had no such issues:

1.You know the lobby menu that shows up whenever you press the home button, well it's developed a bad habit of appearing during gameplay, so I'd like to know the cause (If there is a cause), and any potential fixes

2.There is no obvious wifi/ad-hoc toggle switch so I'd like to know, how do I switch between the two?

1. No idea. Have you tried updating your PSP? If anything try downgrading it as well which is a bit harder to do, but theres a ton of guides that you can find if you Google it.

2. I only have the old PSP, but might be the same. You have to go into network options or something like that in the system settings and switch between them.

1) I have had this problem recently, it has something to do with a little switch not getting fully closed when you close the UMD door. If you open up the UMD door and look at the top left corner you will see a little black prong sticking up. When the UMD door is closed that prong is there to tell the laser to read. Fixing this is a matter of lifting that little black foam square above that prong up a bit with a toothpick or something small and thin. Just push it up a bit and the door will close properly.

Note: DO NOT remove that foam square or cut the prong, it will cause more problems than it will remedy. Just give the foam square a little push upwards is all you need.

You'll also notice inside the UMD compartment a black or beige lever near the spinner, sometimes that may cause problems and I just put a bit of masking tape on it to hold it down and change it whenever it gets too old.

Now if either of those don't work, there could be something wrong with your media strip (the electronic strip that the home, volume, brightness keys are connected to). You can try cleaning it, but if this is a brand new PSP then that shouldn't be a problem.

2) Erm...the wifi switch is at the top of the PSP labeled WLAN. You might wanna go to you network settings and tinker around in there.
