Help with Quest For Glory 4

I could use some help with Quest for Glory 4. I'm playing the CD version through the Quest for Glory Anthology using DOSBox on my PC which is running Windows 7 x64 and I keep running into Error 52 when I go for the one Ritual in the swamp. I've already tried the unofficial patch and am already using DOSBox (the thing wouldn't even install otherwise) and I've already tried looking on GameFAQs and Sierra's Help pages. Is there anything else I can try? I've spent the first 3 Quest for Glory games building up this character, I'm not about to abandon him now.

Wow. They still haven't fixed that? I had that problem like... 11 years ago? I dunno I was in high school.
My vague recollection was that Serria had a patch you had to put on the PC. Like you had to delete some critical file and replace it with the patch.q

Well I only got into the games recently, and apparently not. The only patch I found was an unofficial one, and it didn't even work. ...well granted it did recommend starting from scratch after installing it, but as I said I spent 3 games building this character, so screw that.
