help with the video player

So i have been having an issue since the new video player was introduced months ago.
There is an escapist ad video that plays in front of some videos. its 45 seconds long and is a fine video accept that after that video is over I cannot see the main video. it just sits on a black screen waiting for me to replay the ad or leave with no other options.
No i am not using any of the programs i have heard get you banned for discussion here, I have my most up to date browser I have search around for answers and found nothing.

Any help would be appreciated I have basically stopped using this site since this started

What I'm about to say is probably not going to be very helpful, but, just watch the videos on youtube.
I think that's what most people do nowadays.
