This is why I hate netbooks.

Laptops ftw.

And I have a feeling itll be something stupid like you gotta upgrade to Vista on the netbook. Micro$oft may demand it.

Your going to have to be more specific. What OS's are each system?
Netbook is XP stationary is Vista.
Can't help you there, Never done networking between XP and Vista. You could just upload them somewhere though, Dropbox is a good service.

Also, the netbook is not on a wireless connection, its using a regular internet cable in the same router as my stationary.

If you know their names, try typing \\{Laptop name} on the desktop in a My Network Places window. This may not work as Vista has some network issues with XP at times.

Also, and I don't mean to sound rude, but make sure they're both on. So many people have on off and think that the files are just automatically "on the network" and the other computer isn't needed. I hate people sometimes.

Edit: You may also want to try putting everything onto flash drives or, better yet, Firewire drives if you have any. That can be faster, especially if you have a lot of traffic on the network and if you're using a hub rather than a switch or router.

I think I know the problem. theyre both named the same (The computers) how do I change it? =)
When I start the netbook it says "A duplicate name exists on the network" and theyre both called IdiotDogBrain..
