you know why this is?

its easyer to ban videogames than it is to ban guns or fix your fucking mental health systm
I cant think of a single place in the US where games are banned or so highly restricted that it is nearly impossible to get one, but there are quite a few places in the US that fit that description for guns. Although i suppose its possible.

Not to mention, older people (ie the ones controlling every single facet of our country) usually dont give a damn about videogames, so its no skin off their back.

I'm not saying there is some kind of persecution thing against vieogames....we are too far passed a point where they will be banned or some widespread moral panic like with comics (when people were more [strike/]stupid[/S] conservative)

what I'm really saying is their priorities are out of whack and media is an easyer target than the uncomfortable topic of mental health

our media has always had a hardon when it comes to videogames. I dont think it so much "path of least resistance" as "hey, another opportunity to generate fear against video games."

dunno, maybe they fear that videogames will curb into their ability to influence the public and diminish its power. Granted that sounds a bit "tin foil hat"-ey but...

I mean, it is the ONE subject that republicans and democrats see eye to eye on, their hatred for videogames. Republicans probabl because "back in my day" reasoning and Democrats probably because "we dont trust people with anything" reasoning
