I only care about the auditions in the beginning. The poor, delusional people who think they can sing... hilarious.
I've got to admit, the first couple episodes of American Idol are one of my guilty pleasures. Some of the people who come on really make me wonder if they were being paid for their lack of talent for sheer comedic value.

I don't know, Cheryl Cole makes the X Factor pretty watchable.
Not even Cheryl makes X factor worth watching for me. Not even the whole of Girls Aloud and Holly Willougby would make me want to watch it. the bits I have seen look very cynical and formulaic. None of those guys are going to have an interesting career where they develop as artists.

Yeah, I can't believe they're serious. I mean what have we had? An 80 year old woman with no teeth (about three times as well), that crazy ***** who says she trained singers, the corpses...

The only good things about watching it to the end is seeing all the crap ones sing. >->

Have you tried....ignoring it? You keep saying we HAVE to yadda yadda. But I'm just curious...is there no magical button that changes channel? Is there no mystical "off button"? I dunno maybe I'm just talking out of my ass but I would think there is a chance to avoid it.

In short my question is WHAT IS THE POINT IN X-FACTOR?! And also do you actually watch/enjoy it?
I'm pretty lucky, I have an immunity to this programme. People always say how they get sucked in. I couldn't care less. Even if I've seen bits of it, I form no attachment.

X Factor is crap by the way. Someone's probably winning right now.

I'm guessing X-Factor is somewhat like American Idol? If it is, then I agree with you, these shows need to die.
Leona Lewis won it last year, you've probably heard of her. I heard she was big in America. Or is Simon Cowell spreading lies.

X-factor is one of my main sources of watching suffering on TV. Don't you dare try and take it from me where else can i see fat chavs being insulted and watching them breakdown and cry. Its fun, then again when it gets to the later stages I get bored and go watch some comedy

I never watch this shit, I'll never watch this shit and I've just made a point of upsetting the other 2 tv viewers in the house by hunting them down and turning OFF their TVs and handing them either my PSP or my DS :D

Games are surely better for the brain than that crap right?

I feel the same about Christmas programming and music in general.

The same music every year. The same television programming each year.

Although saying that, you have to admire the British spirit of keeping on the worst dancer, stage after stage after stage. John Sergeant kept on surviving being voted off the show, basically because the viewers wanted to see....someone fail at it every week?

It's the same kind of voting that attributed Rick Astley winning the MTV 2008 awards for Best Act (gotta love automatic-proxy-voting), and it's damn funny seeing all the others who thought they deserved to get the award complain that they've been "robbed" by someone else.
I make an effort to avoid actually watching the program. I've seen John Sargent dance one or two times. Anything that I actually saw on the program probably got shunted out by more important or more entertaining information.
