Okay, so I just saw the finale to Heroes, and I know the show was cancelled prematurely in May, but is it just me, or did the finale feel like an ACTUAL ending?

Samuel is stopped, Emma is saved, Hiro is cured, and everything seems okay. It doesn't feel like any major plotholes are left.

I don't know, maybe the writers put together a slap-dash end, but they didn't know it was cancelled until may, and the season ended in February.

Am I the only one who thinks this, or do other people feel like we may have an actual ending?

No ,I don't think so, series like Heroes just keep on going for a LOOOOOOOONG time(like Lost).

Personally, I think that the ending was just a bit of a mind-fuck teaser for a new series.

I think they wrapped everything up because they knew ratings weren't that high but left a new plot ready to go in case they came back. I think it's good they didn't do another season. Heroes never really recovered from the writer's strike but at least it ended on a relative high note.

You missed a great opportunity to call this thread "No more Heroes anymore".
But it was probably a case of leaving it with a good ending just in case they weren't renewed, but leaving it open enough to write another series if needed.

It was a cliffhanger not an actual ending but because it was canceled it was ended. So yes this was worse than the last episode of Firefly. Why do people cancel shows on cliffhangers? Give me some closure ya basterds.

Apart from Claire throwing herself off the big wheel, showing off her regeneration powers on national television and thus revealing the existence of 'supers' to the world?

Naah, no plotholes whatsoever.

That felt like the 'teaser' to whatever the new season was going to be, yes... But frankly... It feels like a really weak teaser. It looks like Sylar isn't even 'evil' anymore. It has that sort of 80's movie vibe where they would end it on a cliffhanger, but not make a sequel as if to say "their lives go on, but we're done with the story." Like the ending to Back to the Future 1. (They didn't plan on making sequels, but still had a "...the end?" kind of ending. Then they made sequels.) The last episode kind of felt like that.

The writers always said we'd find out how Peter got his scar, because it seemed to appear in all the alternate futures visited. But alas, we will probably never know.

Never kept with Heroes long enough. It stinks the show got canceled. I enjoyed it while I watched and I was recently thinking of picking it up again.
Why must all good shows be canceled?! Personally though, I'd rather have My Name is Earl back on the air before Heroes.

They've still got a tonne of things to work out, chief among them being Usutu. Remember that guy? I thought not; he's the african future painter who Peter's Dad killed and then after his death kept appearing to Parkman and spouting crazy philosophical shit. It's just one of the many things that they thought they were gonna make a plot point out of but then randomly dropped. And what about that whole sideplot about Charles Devoux being a super? That went nowhere, not to mention the fact that Ali Larter has a mysterious 3rd character apparently called Barbara.

I got bored of this season and just forgot to even watch it after awhile. It never really came back from its awful second season, and it doesn't help they've been doing, essentially, the same plot line rehashed with different characters for four seasons.

It did seem that the teaser part with Claire was a desperate attempt to change the formula and it would've been nice to see but oh well. They are planning on making a movie to close it all up though, but then they said that about Stargate Atlantis.
