So, since I've been working most of Spring Break, I've earned over $100, and I have a little money already, and I can trade in my DSi and some various games, I've decided to pick up a 3DS.

I'd like to hear from owners of the system how it's working out, and what you recommend when picking up the system.
Is there anything good on virtual console?
Do you recommend picking up the starter bundle or just the system?

Just any advice regarding the 3DS would be appreciated.
I don't want to be flying blind.

Virtual console isn't up yet, and other stuff like the internet browser isn't working yet.
I'd wait until Zelda's out if you're not really into any of the launch games.
As far as accessories go, a car charger is a good idea if you take long trips. I'd get a case too if you already don't have one from an older system, as it's easy to scratch it.
Overall, I think it's a pretty cool little device with lots of potential.

I want to decrease the amount of money I'm spending at once by buying it before all titles I want are released, and I already have a power inverter in my car.

How's the 3D?
Does it actually cause the eye strain that I've heard about?

It really does work. It's a subtle 3D that makes the games I've tried look better, but nothing really essential to them.
As far as eye strain, it depends on how sensitive you are. I've never had any trouble, but among my friends that have tried it, one can't handle it at all and had to turn it off (3D films make him dizzy as well), one can only handle about 30 minutes on full or has to scale the 3D back halfway, and the other 2 are perfectly fine.

Cool. I don't really see the 3D as the selling point, but that is pretty damn awesome.
Snake Eater and Zelda are really gonna be must-haves, it seems.

Are there any good launch titles, though?
I've heard Street Fighter IV is solid.

I bought something like 10 games with my 3DS. None of them were 3DS games. The good stuff is coming later though, no doubt.

I've not suffered any eye strain problems. The 3D is impressive.

Buy NAO:
Super Street Fighter IV 3D

You buy later, LATER:
May 31: Blazblue Continuum Shift II
June 19th: Kid Icarus Uprising
June 28th: Cave Story 3d.
Not announced when it'll come out: Megaman Legends 3

Shop channel isn't likely to be open until May 7th. Everything on it looks awesome!

Worthwhile available titles (Excluding download stuff cause I haven't checked that out):
Rayman.
Street Fighter.
Ghost Recon. (I was suspicious at first too, but it's actually Fire Emblem with guns)

Honestly, I don't see anything in the launch lineup that is worth it atm, I only got one because I was getting it as my first DS and was going to pickup some old DS titles for it.

I would say if you already HAVE a DSi, check around and see what kind of trade in values stores are giving for it. It was just released recently that a lot of stores are going to phase out the DSi, so you might not get much trade in value for it if you wait too long. I know that a lot of stores are giving you credit towards the 3DS if you trade it in now. Check around, see what you can get for your DSi. If it's worth it, I would upgrade.

If you can't find a good trade in value, then I would wait, because until Zelda comes out, there really isnt' anything out there that tickles my fancy

Whatever, just wash your hands.
well right now there arnt too many games for it, its capable of pretty damn good graphics tho, streetfighter looks great on it, I like the 3d but I can only use it so long before it just stops working that well for me, fortinatly you can turn it on and off at will, over all Im very happy with mine

really the only 2 bad things are the battery life is kinda crap and ds games run a bit weird on it

Grab some explosive material, put it with the explosive material and light it up.

Just my opinion.

the 3DS isnt worth it.
I have one and would have taken it back a few weeks ago if I didnt have DoA:Dimensions preordered.
The battery life sucks, most of the games suck., the 3D was over hyped and is pretty disappointing.
Aside from the "WoW!" for the first 20minutes and the nausua everytime you play afterward....
No its not worth it.
Get a 360 and a game you want for the 360 instead.
I have a 360.
I also enjoy playing games on the 360.

If you get the 3DS, get super street fighter IV: 3D edition. If you like the old nintendogs or pets get the new one. If you are will to put some effort to get passed bare minimum get pilot wings: resort as I personally love the game, but it is short if you literally just complete the game. Get rayman 3D, if your desperate for a platformer, if not don't bother Every other game i suggest waiting for the price to go down on them.

The 3DS has allot of features built in and street is addictive as all hell. If the above games don't interest you don't bother getting it.
