I have never forgiven Nickelodeon for what they did to Invader Zim, but attacking Bronies will only weaken your cause. I propose a truce. I bet more Bronies then you think are also Zim fans. We pool are resources and march on Nickelodeon.

Okay, this calls for an update.

One visit to rolfbot later....

..... Is the only thing setting apart their faces their hair designs? They look like clones. And that's still more interesting than the rest of this thread. Is that K-On! or whatever the hell it's called? The one with the guitar students.... thing?

Aiming your misguided rage at a community of people who love and tolerate people of all beliefs and backgrounds? What kind of monster are you?

so your upset that a show that was more popular got renewed rather than the one you liked, so your taking it out on the community that the show garnered? I got this all in order? good, good.

also I just looked it up and invader zim ended in '03 and the good MLP started '10. You dont know that some of the current bronies weren't fans

Yes, you have that correct. I don't actually dislike the fanbase (except some...extremely vocal minorities, but every fanbase has those) I'm just wondering why a show that was popular with the same kind of audience (and it was getting very good figures) got canceled while a few years later a show with the same kind of fanbase keeps getting renewed. Don't get me wrong, I don't want MLP canceled. It's not my cup of tea, but if you enjoy it then more power to you. I'm just wondering what the key difference was. Are Nick more concerned about hitting the 'target' audience ONLY than The Hub are? Are the executives at the Hub just more caring people? I don't know.

While I don't harbor the same hatred towards Bronies I used, as I can't bring myself to give two fucks about actively disliking things anymore, the "love and tolerance" always grinds my gears. While I'm not saying /all/ of them do this, I've seen a fair share of bronies use it as shield to absolve themselves of faults.

For example, a few of my friends and their acquaintances are Bronies and one of them knew I didn't care too much for the topic. This guy is probably one of the smuggest dickwads I've ever met. Whenever I was around and talking to my friends, he'd always come over and change the topic to ponies just to piss me off. When I finally called him out on it, he says that I can't be upset at him and that I should learn to "love and tolerate" what other people like. Cue smug laughter.

Or my favorite is when Bronies invade a thread with pony pics and when anyone points that out, they always claim that it's because "non-bronies" can't "love and tolerate" like they do. This doesn't happen as often anymore, at least.

I don't hate Bronies, they're entitled to their tastes. But there's something about the fanbase that reminds me of everything I hate about fandoms.

Also Invader Zim is the bomb.

Hey, hey bronies. Screw you guys. Your show gets the same kind of audience that Invader Zim got, but look what happened. You get huge amounts of support from the network, and we, we get the shit. Invader Zim was better than your show and you know it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a Nickelodeon executive in my basement that needs torturing some more! HAHAHAHA! VENGEANCE SHALL BE MINE!
.
Invader Zim was adorable as much as MLP is aorable, just in a different way.

yes
so much of it
IZ was always quite a bit better than MLP is nowadays; if they edited the supposed-to-be ending a little bit (WHY WOULD DIB WIN. THIS IS INVADER ZIM. ZIMGODFUCKDAMNIT)
and also, "my squeezing arm" is the best line to ever grace cartoon history.
RIP squeezing arm

[sub]Only joking, of course.[/sub]

Personally, I found Invader Zim to be...well, gross. A lot of the appeal came from what is now known as shock humor [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_humour]. It did not click with me. Now My Little Pony, on the other hand, that is an excellent show I can totally get behind.

Besides, Invader Zim still has a huge cult following, doesn't it? Isn't that enough? The show had its prime time in the spotlight.

Now it's our turn.
