Just find threads with topics that interest you and write there your opinion, if there's someone you wish to discuss something with in a topic, press the quote button, that way they get a message to their inbox that you've quoted them.

If there are things you wonder about, like how people change text colour, size etc then also press the quote button and look at the text what they've done. You can also ask to get an explanation, people are generally very helpful here

As an addition to this, don't type a low-content post and then bolt on "here is some random dribble to get past the site's low content rule and avoid the banhammer!"

Such posts attract the banhammer with hilarious accuracy.

OT: There are bond to be a few threads that will peak your interest, video game or not... Just make sure if you're going to make another thread in the future, hopefully it hasn't already been made and it still active... (Almost made that mistake a few times... *shifty eyes*)

Also, just be yourself only without the sense of always starting arguments... and you don't always have to respond back to someone who quotes you... unless it helps further discussion... and doesn't come off all "super-mean"...

It may seem a bit strict, but we try to encourage discussion without hostility, so as long as you're not a jerk to anyone, you should be fine!

As for the Low Content rule, if you can't think of anything interesting to add to a topic, you can always walk away from the thread and not post. (Or you can always go join in the Forum Games section, that's an area more specifically for fun than for discussion!)

On topic I agree with the avoiding of threads where people disagree about how to discuss what they are discussing. Basically anything in which what you believe freedom of speech means changes the argument. Unless of course you are don't anger easily, or are masochistic. That doesn't always work and it screws with the time stream too much to make it a regular thing.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum (and all forums for that matter), and I just wanted to put myself out there a little. I also feel the need to self-disclose some. I am becoming an active member of this site for a communications class I am enrolled in. Don't worry! I'm not here to research anyone or anything; I just need to experience something new online. I am going to be as genuine as possible in my activity on this site. I'm not really the avid gamer that I once was a long time ago, so please forgive if I say something foolish or just plain wrong, and feel free to correct me. Just do it respectfully. As a newcomer, though, there are some things I would like to know about from more seasoned veterans of this kind of thing. Besides following the code of conduct here (obviously), are there other things I should absolutely know to do? Or to avoid? Or to be wary of? Etc, etc. I look forward to hearing from anyone willing to reply, and I hope my presence here is worthwhile. Thanks for reading
