Hidden gem in the Genesis library

The Sega Genesis had a huge and very good library of games, but one of my favorites seems to be one that, when talking with other Genesis fans, seems to not be as well-known as I believe it should be. That game: Phelios. It's basically a 1942-esque top-down shooter, but instead of a plane, you're freakin' Apollo on top of Pegasus, shooting beams from your sword and trying to save Artemis. This game had a lot of things going for it:

-Graphics were bright and well suited to the game style
-Levels were varied, from sprawling outdoor stages where there are times you take off to twice normal speed, and then indoor stages where the speed slows down, to an almost ominous pace
-Music was great, another well suited score for the game
-Game was flippin' HARD, but not break-your-controller frustrating

I guess what I'm trying to ask here is this: is this game really the diamond in the rough that I have been led to believe, or do I just not have friends that really knew the Genesis? lol

And by the way, if you have a Genesis still, it is a STRONG suggestion by me to give this game a try. You'll love it...but you probably figured I'd say that if you read all the way to this line. ;)
