I am starting to feel like hardware problems, and Virsus are like, the weekly villian for me.

So I was playing my ps3, and I was using my Computer to be on the escapist and do the usual stuff. So after a long playthrough I go onto the escapist to suddenly find that despite being connected to the internet and Skype, I couldn't go on any website.

Internet Explorer didn't work, and Firefox just told me: Proxy server is refusing connection or something like that.

So I get on my computer the next hoping it would have fixed itself (as there wasn't much I could do) and I find that the problem still persists and suddenly AVG had unistalled itself.

After that I system restored to the previous day at the time it was working. Internet Explorer/Firefox both start to work but act very strangely. I tried to use google or yahoo but all search links sent me to ad sites instead of the intended target.

I learned that disabling java script would work and it didn't, but it was a temp solution and eventually the problem with not being able to go on IE or Firefox returned. I used, AVG, Malware Bytes, and a program to find Rootkey virus things, but all turned up empty handed. Even when they did find something, it had no effect on changing anything.

Also I noticed now that Task Manger is disabled...

Anyone able to help?

Format C:

Seriously. It sounds like you've got a real headache there.

Conversely, you could try Combofix. It's the only thing I found that reliably got rid of the Google redirect virus, which is an enormous pain in the ass. Do be warned, though, that Combofix can seriously brick your machine (and it tells you as much right up front). Format C: may be the more expedient solution.

Oh, also, you can remove the ? from your thread title. Yes, you have viruses on your computer. And they're not so hidden. They're right out in the open, throwing a party.

Well actually now I have fixed the whole thing, well sort of. I got Firefox to connect by clicking the No Proxy option and I no longer get wrong redirects on google.

Only problem is that it appears somewhat that still a proxy is around.

- Download <link=http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/combofix>this and save it to C:
- Enter Safe Mode
- Run combofix
- Let it do its magic.

Warning : your system s seems to be highly destabilized.
There's probability that something won't run after using CF. :(
Still, it's worth a shot...
