Hilarious Censorship

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that censorship of any kind is not really all that great, to put it nicely. But sometimes, you just have to laugh in the face of your foe, and some games give you a great chance to do so. There are times when the censorship in a game is just so completely nonsensical, or the way in which something is censored is so stupid, that one has to laugh.

Here are my two favourite examples:

The first one concerns the German 16+ version of World in Conflict [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_in_Conflict]. Fun fact, there actually were two versions of the game sold in Germany, the uncensored 18+ version and this one. What is the difference between both, you may ask? The cold war still gets hot, the Soviets and the Americans/NATO still fight it out in a global conventional war, even in *gasp* Germany.
All stayed the same. Except for the names of some of the game's tactical aids. While everyone else has a nuke at their disposal, the German youth older than 16 and younger than 18, for reasons I don't even want to understand, can't have that. So we'll have to rename it. In this version, the tactical nuke is called a BFB. Yeah, let that sink in for a moment. It's a Big F*cking Bomb. But only in multiplayer. In the campaign it still is called an Atomic Bomb. As if this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjNA1lZzrGI&feature=player_detailpage] baby could fool anybody on what it is, anyway.
The same goes for the green poison gas tactical aid, which now is white and called tear gas. Which begs the question, why the hell are my infantrymen dying of tear gas? Napalm? There is no napalm. Just an anti-vegetation-strike. It sets forests on fire, so clearly it is anti-vegetation.

But now, let's move on to the best censorship, ever. As we all know, it is strictly forbidden to use some naughty words that every preschooler already knows or words that describe those parts of the human anatomy responsible for reproduction. Yeah, so now it's time to get creative. The makers of Blazblue [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blazblue] clearly were more creative than most other people. Instead of just beeping some words out they ... Well, just watch this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtsAw6gZZyY&feature=player_detailpage#t=96s]. I don't think I'll have to lose too many words on that. Yes, I know, technically that's cheating because that clearly was done with the intent to be funny, but it still is funny. Which is why they did it again [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGm6qot7WQ0&feature=player_detailpage] in the next game.

So, there certainly has to be more hilarious censorship out there. I'm pretty sure my German brethren can provide us with some more tales of ridiculous attempts to censor games, for example.
