It pretty much happened ... though I did express my love to her, and I think it really started rolling from there.
Pretty much this. It all just kind of clicked.

My friend told me he liked me, he asked me out.

I break up with him, he goes out with another girl a few days later.

Pathetically I go to ask him back out again.

Been back together for almost a year now. Meh.

First off, note that I have selective amnesia from when I was five to when I was 13. I remember a little, but when my mom was shot I pretty much lost my memory and mind. (I got better but still have piss-poor short-term.)
So I'll tell the stuff I recently managed to recall first.

My pothead dad used to hang out with her pothead dad in a junkyard.
I met her at age... 4? 5? ... in the video arcade of the Laundromat. She was hogging Centipede and I must've said something mean to her. Her dad got pissed and told my dad. I think my bottom's still got the imprint of a monogrammed buckle.
Long story short, skipping forward to middle school, 7th grade. I was in the same German class as her(a 2-week mini-course) and she was my class partner. I go into coughing fits, and she stood up for me when kids made fun of me for it. Of course, she was the girlfriend of a school bully who in all truth was pretty psychotic. He did all his own piercings in class with a safety pin and he's a pervert. This of course led to a rumor about her being a slut. I got mad and chewed out two girls for telling this rumor because I thought she was nice. Of course I was leaning on the bisexual side then and in-closet to boot. Straight now. Maybe I kinda liked her, but she was taken so I was honorable enough to try not to want her.
Death of parents. Insert amnesia of all previous statements here.
At high school, freshman year, I witnessed a drug deal, and apparently so did she. She quit the school and her parents put her in a religious private school. I did the same after my sophomore year.
This girl comes up to me on my first day of class and asks if I remember her. I don't. "Oh well, I'm with the student council. Want me to show you around?" So we kinda became friends after that. Turns out she liked video games, and we hung out a lot. Sometimes I gave her little presents, and something to her friends too so it didnt look like i was hitting on her.
On a school field trip I accidentally hinted that I might like her, and was really embarrassed. About a month later I asked her out. She said no because she had just broke up with someone. A week later, she changed her mind, because she had liked me for a while but really didn't want to be in a relationship again. Having dumped 2 boyfriends for being perverts and 2 for not being there at all for her, you can understand.
So we took it very VERY slow. Her mom hated me.(she likes me now) About 3 months later she's finally ok with physical contact beyond hands. Kissing took a while, but when her mom found out Lydia got grounded from seeing me outside school. Until she was 18!
On her 18th birthday, I invited her to go on a trip to my family's old home in Bisbee. There I proposed to her. We're not married yet cuz we're both broke, but it's still in the works.

I honestly can't even remember, right now... I think I was the one who asked... But I can't remember.

In either case, we're very happy now.

I'm hoping that I can tell her how I really feel.

Or that maybe she'll end up telling me she likes me.

One can only hope >>

Not in a relationship, hoping NEVER to get in one. Seems waaaaaay too much hassle for someone who would likely piss me off at every opportunity.
Holy shit...
Are you my clone?
Because that's me EXACT train of thought.
I don't want to be in a relationship, never have, most likely won't until I well and truly ditch school.
Just seems WAY too pointless.

I met her at Hume Lake, a Christian camp I go to every year.

She was a senior[footnote]I was an incoming Sophomore[/footnote], who lived about 300 miles away from where I live.

We met through another friend I met last year, and we slowly became super close. She started sitting closer and closer to me during nights on a bench or something, as I'm super warm. It soon became normal to put my arm around her. I started to like her a lot. It was obvious she started to like me.

Only one problem: We were both in relationships at the time. She was in one that was 3 1/2 years strong, but was thinking about ending it because her boyfriend was causing problems with her family and life. Mine was a 6-month thing, my first girlfriend, we weren't very close and couldn't see each other much because of her super strict parents.

On the last day of camp, we told each other our feelings, which did end up being mutual. With one last hug, we went our separate ways. That was two months ago, we're still talking daily, she is essentially my girlfriend.

my last boyfriend we had met in secondary school but it took a night of 'hey i can out drink anyone! "

and considering i love a challenge i had a drink off and i beat him and he is twice as big as me. and in the morning it went from there while having a bit of a headache i told him i could beat him just so i could gather some courage to ask him out and tell him i liked him. he told me that i did not need to have a drink off with him to tell him.
he moved away and i was not for a long distance relationship soo we ended it there.

My current relationships kind of in a holding pattern, but I told her I loved her, and it went from there.

Now I'm depressed.

Back in 2003 I dated a girl I met through anime conventions. The relationship lasted no time at all - I came on too strong, she was offput by my "clingyness", and after a week she told me she "wasn't really interested in guys right now" - basically using her bisexuality to let me down gently.

Oh, so it's not that you don't like me personally, I just put you off men entirely. Thanks!

Anyway, a few months later I was at her house for a party, a bunch of friends spending a weekend getting drunk and hanging out. After having a pretty good time, I kind of went into sulk mode at some point after midnight because I realised I still wanted her and it just wasn't going to happen. I think there was only about five people left at this point. Her, two of her friends from high school, me, and one guy who was playing Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach volleyball on his modded xbox which also served as a media jukebox - hence why he'd brought it to the party in the first place.

The girls were all making fun of his music selection (and the game itself) and in my sensitive state I wasn't in the mood to hear girls giggling so I went downstairs to play Jet Set Radio on her Dreamcast.

At one point one of her friends came down to hang out with me for awhile but I wasn't really in a chatty mood due to the aforementioned sulking so she went back upstairs.

Months later I was chatting online with the friend - the girl I'd dated originally was kind of on the outs with both of us for some recent bitchy behaviour so we had that in common.
I wound up inviting her to my 21st. She came, we chatted, we made out. She told me months later she'd been trying to hook up with me back at the first party but my antenna was clearly not tuned into Planet Flirt at the time.

We got married two years ago.
