I agree, the theory is interesting and even if it were true it would be meaningless in a practical sense; the world went on exactly as it would have if he were dead.
The FBI did follow up on several postwar reports that ol' Schicklgruber was still alive, but all of them came to naught.
This uncertainty is probably due more to the Kremlin's obfuscatory policies on the matter than anything else.

Well,it's kinda depressing if Hitler really escaped without paying for his crimes,but... wouldn't he try to take over the world once again if he escaped?

With the winning countries of the war wanting to put him to trial, the losing countries of the war being bombed to the dark ages and the countries who didn't participate being totaly useless .. I think not

Besides, who gives a fuck if he died there and then, the important part is that the Axis were defeated. Yes revenge is very cute but totaly not neccesary .. He lost, which was the most important part.

Living the rest of your life being tormented by the tought that you stood on the brink of world domination (exageration), only to have taken it away from you would be a punishment by itself I guess.

I actually doubt he escaped, he was an awful decision maker (based on war strategy) and I can't see him living after the escape. He would be found already. (alive or in bone form)

Either he killed himself or was killed by the Soviets; it doesn't matter which, as the Red Army completely crushed the Nazis either way.
