This is a two part discussion. First, if anyone has heard anything about an upcoming Hitman game please post here. Second, what would you like to see in a Hitman game if they release a new one?

More of the same personally. Hitman formula worked perfectly for my taste. If you want a specific example I would like to see more levels like the casino in Hitman 4. I was able to kill everyone in a hotel room and then put together a sniper rifle in a room and wait for my hit to get to the roof. It was something out of a movie and I loved it.

I heard a few rumors about a Hitman 5 but that was quite a while ago. I am kind of on the edge whether I want another one or not. I would be very sad to see Agent 47 start to climb buildings and then get into all the melee shit. I am not entirely sure I would trust them to take it in the direction I personally think the game should go. Then again Eidos hasnt let me down in the past. So cross my fingers one does get released and they keep the core feeling that is Hitman.

I think you mean Hitman V, as Blood Money could be considered the fourth instalment. But then again, they could roundly fuck it up and just make it Hitman or something. Anyway.

I haven't seen nor heard anything about it save for a background / picture that showed Agent 47 holding a toaster above a bath with someone's feet pointing out. Awesome.

What I'd like however is a complete revamp of some of the physics. Not having played Blood Money, I must assume the garotte wire physics are as terrible as Contracts. You can't run, you miss, they don't aim well, and they make his trademark tool horribly hard to use. That, and you can't go wrong.

EDIT: maybe the toaster and bath was from Blood Money.

There's 4 Hitmans already.

PREVIOUS HITMAN SPOILERS WARNING

But, as far as a sequel goes, it's kind of tough at this point. I mean, the guy should have plenty of cash to retire by now and the agency betrayed him, so what would Hitman 5 be? Just him and Diana out killing people to add more millions to his bank account? I suppose it could be him going after some random thugs and THEN the agency itself, but do we really need that experience?

Hollywood hasn't helped. There's been way too many Jason Bourne's around lately. I could not see this series again for a long time and be fine with it.

I'm pretty sure they said hitman 5 is in the works right now, could take a while though for it to be finished.
As to what I would like to see - I'd like to see the money system return kind of like it was in hitman 1 ,the more succesful you are the more money you get, the more money you get the more ammo and weapons/tools you can buy. Maybe a choice of side missions.

I loved Hitman : Blood Money and if they made a new game with nothing but the same mechanics and gameplay, I would be fine with that.

Although I feel that way, I do think that Hitman would be awesome as a sort of Assassin's Creed sandbox game.Without the climbing, obviously.

According to play.com

I'd pretty much like more of the same, blood money got it right. The ones before that were fun, but the AI was tetchy and illogical.

That's in Blood Money. The better you do (less evidence left behind, less collateral damage, killing in the form of an "accident" rather than outright murder), the more money you get.

It's clever the way it does it - you are paid the same amount every time you complete a mission, but if you leave a huge mess in your wake, you have to pay "cleaners" to come in behind you and clean up your mess - thus you're actually rewarded with less money.

ANYWAY... Things I'd like to see in Hitman 5:

-EUPHORIA. I know it's being used in many games now, but for good reason; it's incredible. Hitman: Codename 47 was one of the first games to use ragdolls, and every Hitman game since has used the same ragdolls. They're out dated - the necks don't bend at all. Given Blood Money's introduction of "accidental deaths", such as dropping chandeliers on people, pushing them down the stairs or over hand rails... Euphoria would suit Hitman 5 perfectly.

-Smarter Disguise system. Seriously... a bald white man passing off as an Asian gang leader? I know it's just a game, but I really think certain disguises should have different degrees of hiding your identity. I want to say that Contracts did this.. for example, if you took a SWAT uniform, body armor and face mask, you were pretty much guaranteed not to arouse suspicion as long as you behaved normally, whereas changing into a Biker gang outfit would only work if you were a certain distance away so your face couldn't be recognized. This makes it so that the best disguises are harder to get, giving you something to work for. I liked this.

-Fiber Optic scope. Surely 47 can afford one of these to view under doors and around corners. Looking through key holes is definitely a unique attribute... but let's get with the times, here.

-Ability to lock certain doors. Sure, a locked door would arouse suspicion, but it would also give you time to escape through a window or something before they broke into the room and discovered that some numbskull must have accidentally tripped the lock before closing the door.

-Ability to interact with the environment as to not seem suspicious. For example.. if i walked into a bathroom and saw a bald man with an angry look on his face standing dead center of the room, watching me as I made my way to a stall... i probably wouldn't turn my back on him. So, allow 47 to "wash his hands" or do something that fits with the environment. This isn't really a game play issue, more of a "for the sake of it" sort of thing.
Blood money did the "money" system very very bad - I passed through the game once by killing every living being in the vicinity as far as the game was concerned there was no witnesses to tell the tale, but if a hitman would do some such in real life it would be a disaster for many reasons and the agency would probably try to terminate such hitman. Also I never felt like I was short on money, if anythng I always had spare and could repeat the same mission to get even more, ammo was pretty much free, the cleaning cost was considerably small. You could blast your way through the missions with little evidence left to destroy.
As to disguises, by the original story agent 47 was suposed to be a hybrid of several warlords and as such wasn't really white - he was chinese/russian/swedish/columbian if I remember correctly so he should be able to blend in most of the time, though you can't see it too well in the games. Then again anything that covers your face should be better suited as disguise simply because you are a stranger.

The Agency is all but destroyed besides Diana and 47, plus the ending of Blood Money seems to imply he's working for a Chinese group now.

I suppose the next game could be him helping The Agency get back on it's feet, for their money, of course.

Blood money certainly got it right, at least for it's generation, I couldn't ask for a better game. As a series, I think that Eidos needs to re-think the plot. The genetic clones assassin's and the Agency need to be nixed alltogether. 47 would never go back to work for the agency after they betrayed him, and Diana probably ran for the hills also. It is likely they are living together in a sweet oceanside condo in Sicily. While I believe in strong story elements in a game, the hitman series never really captured me with it's storyline, but rather the premise of the game. Unlike other games that faff about bloodshed being patriotic or good ( ie. Halo, Call of Duty, Medal of ....etc) Hitman has a gritty real-world evil sense about it, killing for money. What gameplay elements would enhance this series?

-Vehicle Combat. I am not talking about GTA here, and Vehicles don't need to be in every level, nor are they always needed to preform a hit. But imagine taking out a target by plastering him to the front of a Ford F150. Or hijack an enemy targets car, then drive it off a cliff; diving out of the car at the last moment.

-Better melee kills. Who remebers the Katana from Hitman 2? That thing sucked, even when you had the drop, unfortunately fatalities weren't introduced until blood money. Knives would be nice. How about a pair of brass knuckles? The ability to kill with bare hands would be nice also (but not like Conviction or MGS2).

-Explosives. I would like to see a larger array of explosive weaponry. IED's , Trip mines. To many games treat IED's like regular mine-type weapons. An IED can be almost ANYTHING, and look like something else entirely (a roll of toilet paper with a grenade inside). And at least one level should let you use a AMR.

-More interesting kills. I loved the "accidents" from Blood Money, more of these would be great. Rig an elevator for a one way trip to hell, set loose a pack of angry dogs, the suicide machine from shooter. How about riggin an enemy targets cigarettes with some anthrax? I would love to crash through a targets house with a wrecking ball ( and make it look like an accident). Set your target on fire with a molotov, lock the door to their room. Rig thier scuba tank to overpressurize (cuasing thier lungs to explode).

-Misc- THe ablity to keep weapons collected throughout the game, including melee weapons. Custom melee weapons, prehaps upgrade your h2h abilities. A custom revolver and a custom .22.

Last thing I will mention for now, it may be time for the Hitman series to don a new protagonist, 47 has to be getting old by now, as much as I love the character; a new storyline will be hard to sell using the same character as a main. Prehaps 47 could be your mentor figure, teaching you the art of the kill, he could even be the head of a new Agency-like entity.

Make it easier, I played a few hitman games and wowzer there tricky! Also tighten up the controls, it's been a awhile since I played one but it always a felt a little sloppy/loose.

You probably played one of the earlier games, or played a silly console port. This is a PC game, and most ports suck by nature.
