Well, it does look to play a lot like Splinter Cell, still, it didnt show that it wasnt possible to play it the way we would play it on the other games. This is kind of just showing the new stuff.

You can hate the game but I would advice everyone to wait until they show us proper gameplay and discuss their intentions with the franchise

It looks like utter shit. Why would Square advertise it as a Splinter Cell type game when the main attraction of the Hitman series has always been the ability to be a silent assassin?

Looks terrible, I really didn't like the originals either. And the classical music is an awful attempt to make their game stand out. I can understand that they were trying to ontrast the sweet music with violent visuals, but the gameplay itself looks so bland it really just ends up looking bad.

I think of it like this. It is just a preview, they want to show off there new engine and content. Sure sneaking about and trying to learn enemy pattern's while trying to achieve SA rank is fun to do. But in a preview standing watching somebody looking though a keyhole for 2 minutes before sneaking past to hide behind a wall for another few minutes just would not be fun to watch. And when you are trying to sell the game to as many people as possible, Having them pass out from boredom is not a good idea.

It burns me sitting through adverts before seeing my content :(. I will now not buy Vimto for six months.

Whereas there are some elements yanked from Splinter Cell: Conviction; namely the detection "radar" this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

This isn't proper gameplay though - Hitman isn't about the confrontation more about the ethereal nature of 47. I shall reserve judgment until this shown, and the amount of time taken by gunfights is revealed.

It looks alright, I don't mind alterations in gameplay as long as they fit the context. In Splinter Cell: Conviction for example I thought it was quite fitting that Sam functioned the way he did in relation to the story, he played more as a ruthless serial killer than a trained covert-op.

I'm a big fan of previous Hitman games, I'm not that bothered if they change the feel of the game, as long as I enjoy it. If I don't, oh well.

Whoever edited that video is a fucking moron. They kept showing the same scenes twice.

I think they chose the scenes they did because watching someone play Hitman can be incredibly boring, also that could have been a tech demo that was put together solely for E3 and was used just to show the new stuff.

Yeah that was a pretty brutal video both in content and in editing. I'd like to think that the stand-off scene with the dozen security guards was one of those very last resort scenarios vice the best way to extricate yourself from a mission.

It's way too early to tell just what this game will really look like but I'm hoping that the stealth portion of the previous games has not been dumbed down in favour of attracting new audiences.

Hmm

it shows a lot of killing, but that's not what Hitman was about. It was about sneaking, killing only those that needed to die. I do hope this was something like a mission where everyone had to die (like a tutorial showing all the ways to kill) but if the whole game is like that I will br rather disappointed.

GUYS,GUYS,THE STEALTH WASN'T DUMBED DOWN.Every aspect of the previous installements that you loved is still there. This is just the beginning of the game.Remember that 47 is constantly hunted by cops?
Remember the weird training session at the beginning of Codename 47?The game was OK,but that first part just made me think the game sucked.
What about the beginning of Silent Assassin?A bald gardener jumping around?
Or even the beginning of Contracts where there's a lot of cops and you basically have to either disguise yourself as a S.W.A.T. member(you know, you could take the uniform of one of the 20 billion S.W.A.T. units you killed earlier)or keep killing everyone else you meet until you get to a car and escape.
The beginning of Blood Money was more of just the usual missions except this one was guided with objectives(what you should do and how to do it)and was fairly easy.

The Splinter Cell comparison I've been hearing is due to the fact that 47 climbs more stuff, grabs random items, etc.OK,I understand that, but when you've been playing any Hitman game, did the thought "Oh,why can't I pick this thing up and throw it" never seem to occur to you?Or maybe "Wow,even I in real-life could just get down onto that ledge and grab the guy and throw him down to his death instead of having to do all of this killing and jumping shit"?

The game that we loved is still there.

It looks decent. I love Hitman and this one looks pretty good. Although it's just an early look at it.

Well, I think everyone is having apropriate reactions, like they said, it would suck to show to the audience 20 minutes of walking around in such event. I hope they show a walkthrough of a mission to show us in what ways can we play the game. (like the Deux Ex walkthroughs)

Wait, people actually played it like that? Not me. The only times I ever bothered with stealth were when not doing so would result in mission failure. Otherwise it was killing sprees all the way.

Looks fine for me. If I was running from the cops, I would try to be stealthy as much as I could to get away. I feel like replaying Blood Money now.

Well yeah, I loved running through the levels with a SPAS 12. Limitless fun. But for the best scores, which gives more rewards to buy those big guns you had to be sneaky x3

EDIT: This is for Bloodmoney that is. Not sure about the others.

Thats actually the music they always use (at least for blood money) kinda like Hitmans theme, not that you don't have the right to hate it, they just arn't using it to stand out

OT: I think it looked good, hell I will buy it anyway

That was a terrible video.
As for the gameplay, well, the problem with stealth games is that in trailers, it's hard to make "gripping exciting scenes" by using the stealth aspect.
While I wasn't a massive fan of Blood Money (only one I played) I hope that this is still stealthy, rather than BANG BANG SHOOTY GUN.
