So it is finally December, the month of winter, snow, xmas/christmas/holidays, and the end of the year.
My favorite thing about December has to be the food; christmas cookies, eggnog, seasonal dark beers, and generally higher quality food.
I was originally going to ask you all about eggnog: if you drink it, enjoy it, even know what it is. However, I realized that a lot of Europeans don't know what eggnog is, and most Americans think it is just liquid eggs with spices and crap.
So instead of an eggnog thread, this is now a "December holiday season food" thread.

Most importantly, do you like eggnog? Do you know what it is? Have you tried it before?
What is your favorite holiday food/drink? Do you have it every xmas holiday?

Please keep it to just December seasonal foods.

Mince pies.

Seriously, mince pies are fucking delicious if done properly.

We get them from this one place every year, and they're just the best thing ever. Just enough filling so that your taste buds explode, but you don't feel sickly afterwards.

I can't stand Christmas food. I enjoy Christmas, but I spend the whole day dreading the dinner.

When it comes to food and christmas holiday in my family, the only unique foods are all the baked goods we make. Cakes, biscuits, muffins, pastries, banana loafs, experiments, ect, ect.

Christmas is a time of baking sweet desserts in this family.

As for drinks and eggnog, yes I know what eggnog is, but no I haven't tried it yet. I plan to try it this year. My favorite christmas drink is baileys!

Mainly all the baked goods that come out from this.

Gingerbread cookies (and houses! :D) and all the breads since they are just so delicious.

I'm not a real fan of Christmas-y beer, but then again, I'm more of an eggnog kind of kid.

I'm not a huge fan of most food typically associated with Christmas. Eggnog in particular disgusts me.

That said, when I was little my mom used to make a candy called Bark. It's milk chocolate and peanut butter chips melted down and mixed together, peanuts and cashews mixed in, then chilled in the refrigerator overnight. I freaking love the stuff. It's one of the very, very few sweets I'm fond of.
