Just... Wow.

I cannot find the words to describe how utterly freaked out I am right now. I get freaked out just by watching whales on TV cos they're so big but seeing a shark that big lurking behind the couple... It's just insane.

The kid had balls, I gotta admit that. I probably would have just panicked so bad that I couldn't have swam back to surface let alone take that picture! Holy fuck.

EDIT:
I wish I hadn't checked this thread again. XD I've actually seen that shark before, I just didn't realize/remember it was the same until I saw the "bucket" picture... Dang.

Hang on...

Sharks need to keep swimming to get water through their gills and stay alive, yes?

Therefore... either this one was dead or they actually got hit by it from behind just after the photo was taken.

It's unlikely that this is a true story, or a real picture, but if it is, that kid is going to take a huge amount of time to get back into water.

Guys, its fake. No way anyone would stop and take a picture while a Great White hovered behind their parents. Also, no shark would do that, just swim up behind someone and wait, thats if they even can, as they need to move to get oxygen over their gills.

Its obvious it's the same shark. So we can deduce that the two in the other picture stole above shark's bucket, and he was seeking revenge.

HOLY BALLS! I would shit myself after seeing something like that. However if the son truly panicked, he's very lucky. It is my understanding that sharks can sense panic, and if in panicking the son forgot to not use his arms, sharks would normally attack.
Yup, it's fake. If the child truly panicked they'd all be dead.
Okay its decided that its fake...
so the sharks won't attack unless your seen as a threat or food
People aren't usually seen as either underwater

Here is a valuable tip:
SHARKS DON'T ACTUALLY LIKE TO EAT PEOPLE!
If they bite, it is because they are curious about this random thing that doesn't make any sense underwater. When we go scuba diving the gear blows out loads of bubbles and this can attract a shark's attention.

This photo is not necessarily fake, but it probably is.

That is cool a definite once in a life time picture. In all honestly its best they didnt know it was there also it looks like a baskin shark so they would have been fine.
That IS NOT a Basking Shark, first of all, they don't get ANYWHERE near that big, second, you can tell by the Coloration and Jaw shape that it is a GREAT WHITE. A GENUINE Jaws-Style Great White. Except, as everyone knows by now, Great Whites don't eat humans. They bite, realize you taste like shit, and spit you back out. I can't count the number of times I have seen survivors of shark attack victims that were INCREDIBLY damaged that SHOULD have been eaten but weren't, simply because we don't taste good.
Well, speak for yourself. I personally taste delicious, hence my ridiculous number of midge bites.

READ THIS FIRST BEFORE LOOKING AT THE PICTURE.

Family on vacation in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wife and their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband is in the navy and has had some scuba experience. His son wanted a picture of his mom and dad in all their gear so he got the under water camera ready to go. When it came to taking the picture the dad realized that the son looked like he was panicking as he took it and gave the 'OK' hand sign to see if he was all right.

The son took the picture and swam to the surface and back to the boat as quick as he could so the mum and dad followed to see if he was OK. When they got back to him he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely panicking. When the parents asked why, he said 'there was a shark behind you.' The dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true but they wouldn't believe him. As soon asthey got back to the hotel they loaded the picture onto the laptop and this is what they saw.

That shark is bigger than the shark in Jaws.

In the picture is it a Great White Shark? It seemed a bit to big to be a great white.

Would be the ultimate photo bomb if only it where real.

Also a few misconceptions keep popping up.

Sure sharks many times bite and let go, but that does not in any way mean that some do not eat people. Especially the deadly is the bull shark. Anyone from India and Australia knows the one I am talking about. Every place near the larger rivers have stories about the missing, and the eaten. This is a shark that can get to nearly 7 feet in length, and likes to swim in rivers, lakes, and even some larger streams. A shark that has been known to jump rapids like salmon. A shark many list as the most dangerous in the world.

The shark is many times smaller then the shark in Jaws. The shark in Jaws eats a boat. It is supposed to be three tons and over 25ft in length. The real great white can reach lengths of about 20 ft. A disputed claim of the largest fish caught on rod and reel is for a 23ft great white caught in Port Angeles, however this is claimed through witnesses as this was before film, and other means of documentation, and the animal was to big to actually land. I mean it would have been about 2500-3000lbs who the hell can pull that to shore?
