I turn 18 in about 4 hours. I need good ideas on what to do with my newfound "adult" status. I know I'm gonna buy the fanciest pipe I can find and just carry it around because I can.

And for another point.. this has been bugging me a little. The ads! For parental controls and drug intervention. I think those 2 missed the target demographic here by about a mile (restricted internet and drug advice for moms? Who wants/ is either? (inb4 lolz I want your mum)). I know it's cash and keeps the Escapist free, but I can't help but laugh when one pops up.

Happy soon-to-be birthday! Umm... you could always go buy yourself a pint? I dunno, turning 18 wasn't a holy crap moment for me. It's very handy being a legal adult, but it didn't really hit me quickly.

dunno, if you're american (just guessing since most people here are) 18 is pretty different from denmark.

In Denmark you can get a drivers licence when you turn 18, but you already have that earlier.
You can go to bars, which you'll have to wait 3 more years for as far as i know.
And i can vote, which is kinda useless, cause i's assume your politicians is pretty much the same bunch of filthy liars as they are here in Denmark.

Also, i wanna lulz at your mom.

Believe me, being 18 isn't all that much fun. And you loose a lot of fun things in life, such as you can't hit anyone who is younger then you because you are now an adult.

Yeah what are with these ads. I clicked on and the lady uses the apple iphone app to type in a game in which "Lasers fired from arm cannon causes robots and limbs explode" But the game back cover had E10+ So what was so what's up with that?
