Hey there Escapists!

Just wondering how many of you have a good luck story that's recently happened? Here's mine:

Basically, I needed a piece of paper that had a reference from a previous workplace to put on my CV. Unfortunately, this piece of paper got washed, and I thought all the information with it. Most of it disintegrated upon pulling it out of my pocket, except when I prised it open....the address and phone number of my reference was still there. It's probably a 2 by 4 inch piece of washed paper, and the address and phone number are on there, clear as day.

Just wondering how many else of you have got crazy lucky like this. Curious to hear some stories! Fire away :)

I'll consider myself lucky when I actually get a f***ing job.

Well, I recently started driving lessons. The first thing I was told by people was that I was going to stall... a LOT. I'm onto lesson 7 and I still haven't stalled yet. Considering that I was half expecting to break something on the car, I've done well.

Well done on that one :) Maybe you just have a natural driving ability though? :p

Maybe, because very little else goes right for me. At least, consistently.

Haha, perhaps.

Luck? Rebound? All the same to me.

I was driving, and a kid on a BMX bicycle jumped off the curb, misjudged his landing fell right in front of my car. I had to swerve into opposing traffic so as not to run him over, and just as I thought I was going to hit an on coming car (which didn't seem to notice me), it made a very slow right hand turn, and I missed hitting it by about a foot.

You don't know how badly I wanted to beat the crap out of the kid on the bike.
I can only imagine. I'm guessing he would probably want to hug you profusely for not painting him on the road though! At least he should!

Well a couple of years ago I dodged a bullet... literally.
My dad and I were at a buddy of his house, and they decided to start cleaning. So my dad's friends son come out of his house with large, old, dirty blanket. Then he gets the idea to burn it, well what he failed to notice was that wrapped in the blanket were well bullets. How does a guy miss that I don't know. So I was sitting near the fire when he threw the blanket on it, and well it didn't take long till all hell broke loose.
So I considered myself lucky that day.

My friend likes to talk on and on, so when she said "Remember my cousin's unexpected pregnancy?" I had three options- Mysterious partner, 40. I went with the young teen pregnancy and by god I got it. Felt like Jesus for a time.

I was driving down an A road, doing 60mph. There was a junction left and a car stopped at it and prepared to pull out, with time to go across in front of me and carry on. However, as he pulled out in front of me he realised that the oncoming lane wasn't clear. My only choices were to hit him, hit the oncoming car or swerve into the hedge, but very very luckily there was a bus bay on the left and so at the last second I managed to swerve into the bus bay and undertake this car that had literally stopped half way out of a junction and managed to probably save my friends life (he was in shotgun) and my own

Holy hell. That's quite lucky!

I'm noticing a lot of luck stories involving driving. Kinda worries me a bit :p

It was shortly after getting my first car as well. But yeah most mental stuff happens on the road. The other day myself, my gf and some friends all went to a theme park and my one mate refused to come because he's terrified of roller-coasters. I told him that he's 1000x more likely to die in the car on the way to the theme park than on any of the rides. That's quite a scary notion

*thinks deeply*

Nope, can't think of anything. If anything I'm a magnet for bad luck. Usually anything really important I try to do fails somehow and anything I actually, really care about gets crushed before my hands no matter what I do. So much fun.

I was working with a knife and kept hitting my hand but it refused to cut the skin. Though I could just be good with a knife; I prefer to think it was luck.

My friend lucked out during his drivers exam. He ran a stopped sign but his instructor didn't notice because the instructors mom kept calling him.

One time when I was 3 I loved Superman a whole huggy bunch. So naturally, I wanted to be like him. I donned my costume and got on top of the banister, getting ready to fly. Lucky for me, my mom noticed me and pulled me off the banister. I wouldn't be writing this if she wasn't there. (What makes it worse is that we had wood flooring. An even harder impact.)

Ha! That's fairly lucky.

I suspect I'll do well on my actual test, but I will definitely need luck for the damn Theory.

Driving is dangerous. Fact of life, most people can't drive for shit.
Yeah, sometimes I'm just like "Quite honestly, how did you pass your test?" - usually ends up with a reference to a girl I know. Pretty hot girl, wore a short skirt to her test. Passed. A week later she couldn't 3 point turn. I'd only had 2 lessons by this point and had to do it for her. Guess she lucked out with a pervy examiner!
