I have evidently screwed up big time.

I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. I am able to connect to my Dlink router and the signal strength is excellent but the router will not communicate with my modem. If I plug my computer directly into the modem, it will work just fine, I have checked the cables, tried another ethernet cable, tried a different port, contacted my ISP (connection is great with the ISP-provided modem). I have tried everything, even a hard reset on both the modem and router and nothing will help.

I know it is my fault somehow, I was fiddling around with my DNS settings for Netflix-related reasons and this led to the initial problem.

Captcha: until tonight

Best guess is that your wireless access point is on different subnet from your router.

run ipconfig/all using the instructions here https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=562

Connect to the router by cable and cross check the results.
