I recognize that Homestarrunner.com is not for everyone, but it's been for me since 2001. In the beginning, there was Strong Bad and his e-mails, and they were funny. I began to take in all of the other offerings therein, and like most TV shows with ensemble casts, there were high points and low points but mostly the quality of the whole orbited "pretty good" to "great." The greatest of which being the aforementioned Strong Bad E-mails.
As time passed, I noticed that the regular Monday showing of Strong Bad E-mails was more infrequent. More shorts with puppets and presumably one of the creators children were showcased, animation began to take a backseat to Flash driven slideshows with character voiceovers, and a lot of Cheat Commando stuff (which qualifies as one of the low points).
Very recently it has gotten worse with the Strongbad E-mails being virtually non-existant, the few toons they've been posting being subpar, and, most noticeably, they haven't updated their site for content at all this month.
The only update I've noticed on the decreasingly regular trips I make there is a link to the merch shop peddling an overpriced calendar for the new year. After a year that has given little to recommend the purchase of any swag, it seems presumptuous to believe that they would profit from a brand that they have basically left to die.
For now, it is at least in a coma, and for my money I'd like to see either the plug pulled (some official notice that the site will stay up but will not be updated (like some dusty eRelic)), or put the paddles to her and jump start it back to relevance. Either way, Homestarrunner cultists deserve better than nothing.
To quote Tom Petty, "The waiting is the hardest part."
