Every time I think about finishing up New Vegas, I get hung up on a plot point that I just can't roll with. So I don't. I suppose it's a valid way to conclude the game - choosing to wander the wasteland aimlessly while the world continues on its way - but dammit, I'm not too happy about it.
I was pretty angry at first, but then I looked at it from a development point of view. Think of all of the ramifications that come from any of the endings. Take siding with Caesar for example, what would you be able to do after he enslaves everyone?

HELL. YES.

Also, anyone who knows the original history of The Burned/Hanged Man from the old Fallout development cycle is probably scratching their heads, given the fact he is being seemingly treated like some kind of hero/anti-hero with a purpose here. In the original Van Buren, the Fallout 3 that never was before Interplay utterly screwed the pooch on the franchise and, well, being financially solvent, he was THE evil companion. So much so that many groups would INSTANTLY HATE YOU ON SIGHT if you were friends with him. I found it interesting that he was given a somewhat more sympathetic storyline and history in New Vegas, but given he was featured in a bloody loading screen message through the whole game, I figured we'd eventually see his bandaged mug. Just... not as a cross between Azrael and Darkman.
Pariah dog with a gun, lol.

I may be a bit late to the party here, but did Bethesda release the patch that sorted out New Vegas screwing up. I remember seeing a post on The Escapist not long ago explaining that the game was currently unplayable. Is this still the case?

OT: Looks good. Still have yet to finish NV or Dead Money, but if my question above is answered with "Yeah, it's back up", then that's what I think I shall be doing this evening.

Anyone else sorta see 3 tribal factions in there?

You have the people with their backs to the burned man so they're probably his friends (and followers?).

We have the least clothed tribals with what looks like some adventurer or common wastelander.

We have the more armoured savage looking tribals led by some tribal guy.

Hmmmm.

I suppose that the adventurer could be NCR by birth, and the mention of fire and caesar's flag probably hints at legion involvement though I doubt there will be NCR involvement in this. The burned man may offer a 3rd option in this and maybe you even get a solo option.

I think this is the first time a trailer of something I have liked has actually made me want it less. It doesn't seem very good at all from that trailer.
I'm not able to see the trailer from where I am at the moment--what is it that turned you off? (Not going to try to convince you otherwise, just looking for alternate perspectives besides the hype)
Well it's basically just combat from various different camera angles, it shows practically nothing to do with what it may be about, or why you'd want to play it, unless you like shooting Tribals.

Trailers are supposed to draw you in, pique your curiosity. Especially if they are for DLC, I don't need to see people shooting for 2 minutes, I already know what the games combat is like.
Aren't you drawn in by the story? The story given closure that I've been waiting for ever since Van Buuren got canceled...While F:NV was a bit of a disappointment all in all - not because the game is bad it's just the oblivion engine is not a good place to revive franchises,it did continue the story chaining up events like the original Fallouts did.
