As many of you know, today is Veteran's Day. For those of you who don't know, Veteran's Day is the celebration of anyone who has served in the armed forces. I thought we could all take a moment and recognize the sacrifice the brave men and women of the armed forces make everyday on our behalf. Whether or not you agree with the war doesn't matter, they still put their lives on the line for you.

List here any friends or loved ones that have served, or are currently serving, in the armed forces. While this is technically an American holiday there is no reason that our European friends can't participate. [EDIT: I completely forgot about Remembrance Day. Same holiday, different name]

For any veterans reading this right now, let me take this chance to thank you right now. Your sacrifice is appreciated.

Just about all countries that participated in world war 1 recognise remembrance day. Ceremonies were held yesterday in Australia.

I have a friend currently serving in the Army in the middle east.

I myself served for four years and spent two of them in Iraq.

I have had several family members in the military but they all served in the Second World War and they have all, sadly, passed on.

Veteran's day already? I'm gonna go take a shot for PFC Daniels, the only soldier for whom I ever participated in the 21-gun salute.
