http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11061244 - Rockstar are apparently banning users who've been caught/reported as cheating on RDR, as well as deleting them from the in-game leaderboards....Until they find a way to hack around the banhammer, that is...

Even so, I think it's a step in the right direction, and makes a change from news about software pirates.

I agree with their planning of taking out banners, however, I disagree with giving the warning. If someone is hacking, they'll just be "clean", and immediately go back to hacking after the banwave hit.

As for the thread... personally, I am large against hacking, even if it's just a private game with a few friends. I'm pretty sure if they wanted you to go around making things do crazy stuff, they'd give the game a mod tool, and if not then probably for a reason.

Also on my mind: Every game should be released with a mod / editor tool so the modders will be happy, hackers will hopefully quit hacking, and people will be happier in the end. Developers, is a simple little tool added on to the game so much trouble for your fans... happiness? *Big dog puppy eyes*
