the hardest thing is research. look up all the parts you will need. start by looking at the parts used in that dell and see how much they cost by themselves from places like www.newegg.com (assuming you are based in the US) and look at all the specs and see if you can find a part with better value for money. Once you have a pretty good idea what you are looking for you should google how to put a PC together. Most parts will only go in one place and there are very detailed instructions all over the internet

EDIT: If there are any things that you dont understand eg specs that you dont understand just google. Wikipedia is very useful and dont forget to ask the friendly people on the Escapist :)
