I noticed something as of late. Scary things don't scare me. I'm not trying to come off as some sort of badass, I just don't think "scary" videogames or movies or stories are scary. Here's why: Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I don't know, maybe I'm not doing something correctly and not getting all of the enjoyment out of it.

I recently read "I have now mouth and I must scream" upon recommendation and I wasn't scared or freaked out.
Do any of you know any good horror stories
and, em I doing it wrong?

Try reading H.P. Lovecraft's stories. He was a wonderful writer and a few of his stories have actually sparked a small sense of fear within me. I'm not usually one to feel fear from books, so I chalk this up to Lovecraft's expertise in writing.

If you want to check out the majority of his works, I suggest getting this version [http://www.amazon.com/Necronomicon-Weird-Tales-Lovecraft-Gollancz/dp/0575081570] as the book contains the majority of his major works, and in order of when he wrote them. It's quite fun to see him develop as an author through these stories, and how he turns to focus more and more on what he's so well known for now.
