It is pretty simple really what is the most terrifying fish/invertebrate/abomination from beneath the waves and what would you want protecting you from it?

I personally do not want to run into a megasized colossal squid.

They have huge beaks and spikes on their tentacles.

What would I want to have protecting me from such a horror?

A killer whale would work.

Smart, big, surprisingly friendly to humans considering their size and they travel in fucking packs!

So what do you fear that lives beneath the briny deep? And what would you want to protect yourself from it?

Note: Please only list animals that are confirmed to exist or have existed at some point in history. Yes I am doing this to prevent the Cthulhu/Narwhal combo. I have heard that song a few too many times in the last 3 days.

If I'm going to die, I'm killing every damned thing within a one mile radius.
Well it doesn't actually exist and you didn't list what from beneath the ocean is the most terrifying but hey I see why you chose it.

mostly one of these bad boys

a fucking megalodon
and i think the only concievable way to stop it is another megalodon under my control with "friken lazer beams attached to its head"

Fuck Pikachu. If I see a SINGLE Jigglipuff, I'm going to strangle it to death, then strangle it some more, and give it one last strangle just to be sure it's soul isn't dead.

I stated that it has to either exist or have existed in the past so yes a Megalodon would qualify. Though there was a type of sperm what that was the megalodons contemporary that was the only sea creature capable of fighting with and surviving a fight with one. Forget the name though as I saw this on the discovery channel a few years ago.

I would never go anywhere near water in which sea wasps live. They are tiny, ridiculously deadly and almost entirely transparent, making identifying them before they get you slightly more than difficult.

Sharktopus. That is all.

Edit: It has to 'exist,' huh? eh... this thing is pretty scary looking:

I think it's like a giant sea louse or something. I certainly would not want to meet one. Ever.

Fuck it I give up.
I put a real one up there ;) But seriously, asking Escapists about their favorite sea monster type thingy is just asking for ridiculous links.

Narwhals definitely exist dude; so I'm guessing that's a meme I'm not getting.

Besides. this is kind of a wierd topic since humans aren't used to escaping danger in the water - we're terrestrial organisms.

(If you snickered, you're officially going to hell)
