Specifically, do you like your pastries hot or cold? This can go for muffins, cookies, cake, etc. Personally I can go either way. It depends on what my tastebuds are craving.

EDIT: This is the third thread I've made since joining and the second that has double posted. Forgive my internet, it knows not what it does.

Depends on the cake.

I love a good muffin straight out of the oven, but I prefer my brownies to have a crust, and them being cold helps develop said.

However, generally, I probably prefer my pastries hot, just like I do any other non-liquid foodstuff I eat.

warm, but not hot.

Tried a cookie seconds out of the oven. The burn on my tongue sure taught me.

It depends, really. Cookies are always good hot. Cake is usually better cold. You get the idea.

Depends on what I'm eating. A flavored danish? Hot. Cookies? Warm. Croisant? Hot.

Nevermind, apparently I like a lot of my pastries hot.

Depends on the weather, but for the most part I'd go for 'warm', though sweet food is sweet food and I will gladly consume (mostly).

Most of the time I prefer warm, but cold doesn't bother me. As long as it isn't burnt, I'm not picky.

Mostly hot. My one exception is any...cake-like substance. Cake itself, brownies, etc. You get the idea. Those are better cold imo.
But fresh warm sugar cookies out of the oven...

Well, if you'll excuse me, I'm hungry as anything after this thread.

Usually cold, for me, but it really depends on the pastry.

Generally hot - at least that's the case for doughnuts, yumyums, croissants, danishes, brownies...

Profiteroles and eclairs I prefer cold, what with the cream and all. I'm also not a fan of chocolate muffins being hot, since they're rich enough already.

Cold. "Put in microwave for 60 seconds"? *****, please, I want it coooold!
Although, the best dessert in the world Pizza Hut's Cookie Dough, obviously) is a wonderful mix of steaming hot and freezing cold. They hit the nail on the head, right there.

It really depends. For example. My grandma makes a really great desert called Hot Fudge Cake. It's best served fresh out of the oven with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. I swear I was full after eating dinner once, but when she pulled that out of the oven, I couldn't help but eat two bowls. So, damn good.

Donuts are nice hot, too. If you ever had a hot Krispy Kreme donut, you know what I'm talking about.

Honestly anything you bake is generally best fresh out of the oven. The only exception being cakes. Like a red velvet cake, for example. Damn, my grandma is really good at making different baked goods. Everything I think of is something she makes.

I made this thread because I had a couple of baked cookies today and for some reason I noticed that I liked cookies when they're crisp and crumbly, but sometimes I want that melt-in-your-mouth chocolatey goodness. Man, I'm glad I'm running tomorrow.
