I'm probably the biggest House nerd here. And I vote for a prequel-ish thing. So its before Season one. It sounds like a crap idea, but its better than the alternative...
Or alternativly House gets killed off, yes I'm serious, the character that was named after the series.
Or alternativily alternativly, House spends the rest of his life in an asylum and deludes a whole lot stuff like Amber and having sex with Cuddy.

I'm not one to champion the cause of Anime but I have to agree. The majority of shows nowadays have absolutely no aim and I hate that. They end up in this boring format which in turn makes the show itself boring. I'm guessing the main attraction would be the characters and how they interact with each other rather than an overarching goal but still, goddamn. I'm not saying this sort of format can't be good but when it's overused it just ruins the show.

No, it can't be cancelled for the simple reason is that then I'll only have Futurama to watch now that they cancelled Lie To Me.

Although I do agree that the past seasons were better than these newer ones, but they are by no means terrible, especially when you compare it to the rest of the stuff that's on TV nowadays.

Do you miss the days before Adult Swim, before Battlestar Galactica, Heroes and Lost? Before Black Books, Community, It's Always Sunny (Hell, before FX), The Office, and Arrested Development? Do you pine for the days when sitcoms weren't allowed to even hint about masturbation? There's a metric shit-ton of godawful stuff on TV, more so than ever before, yes, but that's only because there's a metric shit-ton more TV than ever before. There are more choices, there is more quality than ever before. You just have to find it.

Now, all we have to do is pass a bill stating that good cable networks like Animal Planet and Discovery and History can't fill up their roster with bullshit reality shows until they are no longer relevant, and we'll be fine.

Okay, perhaps saying nowadays was a bit Grumpy Old Man of me, but it does seem that there is a lot more shit on TV compared to the amount of good stuff on TV. Especially here in the UK, when it seems at times that if a TV channel doesn't have at least 3 reality programmes then it may as well not bother.

Also out of all the stuff you mentioned besides Black Books, which was good when it was on a few years ago, I would only want to watch Community and Arrested Development.

I just feel like I shouldn't have to wade through the added fuck-ton of shit on the possibility I should find something I may like.

However as I sort of mentioned before, you'll get no protests from me about killing off "reality" TV shows, but people eat the stuff up like there's no bloody tomorrow.

I dont care if House has humped the shark to the point that the shark is filing rape charges (yes I know its jumped the shark) Id still rather watch a slightly better than average medical show with a snarky protagonist, than hear about how Amy thinks that Rico needs to chill out and team up with her because together they can win this competition.

So yeah, no matter how bad house may get its still a world better than "Whats causing all this itching and burning Island"

I'd certainly much rather see Hugh Laurie being a dick to everyone he comes across than pretty much any other show currently on Fox.

But you don't have to wade through a damned thing; you have friends and the internet; surely you know whose tastes align with your own.

...So you apparently don't dig sci-fi. What about drama? Science? Crime drama that isn't tired and cliche...OK, that last one's kind of a dying breed at this point. I must admit, I have returned to the point where I cannot stomach a single episode of Law & Order, even if Alfred Molina is in the cast. But there's plenty of great stuff out there. Use your Tivo. The only reason you ever have to watch shite is that you gave something a chance and it didn't turn out how you thought it would.

I admit it started to become pretty abysmal through series five and six, but the more recent series have seen a return to its older levels of quality. Take the halloween special, for instance.

I think this last season's finale took jumping the shark to new levels, and for no reason. Cancelling it at this point would be like an amputation to the gangrenous leg of shark jumping.

The only thing that ever really appealed to me was the character and its fantastic portrayal by Hugh Laurie. The last episode I caught, he was in a mental hospital (as a patient). That was fun.

I LOVE HOUSE. I Love Hugh Laurie and would bear his children if I had a uterus. I just feel like any character development gets pasted over so that the writers can churn out an hour episode without having to change the formula.

I just felt that the show would end well with house actually getting better like he was mid season 6, but I found out reading ahead that he just goes back on drugs. its just quite disappointing.

Dear people of the world,

Please stop saying that things should end or die or stop or that sequels shouldn't be made or that a new thing has ruined the series/genre/whatever because it makes NO SENSE. If you believe that house (Or anything else) should have ended after two series stop watching after two series. Noone is forces you to watch or even acknoledge the exsistance of any of the other series of house.

The reason companies continue to make anything is because people watch them, so let other people enjoy whatever it is that you think has gone on too long and be happy that you enjoyed the first two seasons and then it went down hill so you stopped but you can accept that other people might still find it enjoyable.

I respectfully disagree, though I do understand where you're coming from.
I am a huge House fan, so I enjoy (or should I say "enjoyed") many of the longer story arcs. It would be far more satisfying for me, as a fan, if the story finished in a strong way. Saying that you can stop watching the show is like telling someone who is criticizing the end of a movie that they could have left the theater at any time. You're supposed to take the work as whole.
