How about Android games? Any suggestions?

You guys seem pretty well informed and well opinionated here.
So, let me pick your minds on this one.

What android game would you recommend?

Would appreciate if you could tell me what machine you have, and a recommendation for one free app and one paid app

I recommend Game Dev Story it has a demo version that you can try and see if you like it and it is quite cheap. I played on iPhone but Android v1.6 should work (try the demo just in case though).

I like Greedy Spiders I think it's called, Nethack has a good Android port and Angry Birds is always good.

I've not yet seen anything which tempted me to spend any real money, but my Xperia Play is awesome for emulators, I finally finished Sonic with all the Chaos Emeralds and am trying to get past that point in Bionic Commando I could never do as a kid. And all with save states! On the toilet!

Theres DroidJump, or something along those lines. Its basically Doodlejump but 100% free and with the android droid. Also there is this small turn based open world rpg called "Gurk", its pretty simple, doesn't have much replay value, but its a good 3 or 4 hours which is pretty epic for a free game. If you liked it, theres a Gurk 2 i think, it costs money but the screenies look like a very polished version of Gurk.

Ive got a HTC Wildfire S android phone thing, btw.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S II Epic:

Battleheart is very good. Air Control is pretty fun as well. Robo Defense, Minecraft and Need for Speed Shift 2 are all fun too.

As for free games, Angry Birds is reasonably fun, if somewhat over-hyped. For paid games, Cut the Rope is cute and (IMHO) more fun than Angry Birds, and Zenonia is a full-on Zelda clone with (supposedly) more than 40 hours of play time. Both of those only run $0.99 in the Droid Market. I'm using a Samsung Stratosphere.

Yeah I tried Angry Bird. I agree its good. I little over hyped though.
I like that its simple... I never have the patience for intricate games with a loooong story line to follow.

I have a Xperia Play too.
I think its a cool machine. I use an iPhone for work, but playing games is definitely easier with the Play.

Will go ahead and try the games suggested

Will post again when I come up with some faves too.

ESP Galuda 2 and Dodonpachi Resurrection, coming hopefully very very soon.
These being digital-stick arcade games originally, I was skeptical about touch input when they went to iPhone and iPad. But they turned out to work so well that all concerns of authenticity were soon blasted out of existence.
