What country is this?! Here you have to be 17!
It's US. They're car friendly, as opposed to the UK where I'm guessing you are along with me, they will hate you so much you might as well club baby seals in sea life centres on the day animal rights activists are there. Referencing petrol prices here.

USA, and it's a learners permit, not a liscence.
I don't believe I've come across that before, what does it mean? That you have permission to learn to drive?
It means you can drive but only with an adult and during daylight hours (sucks for us American teens).

Kind of. Mainly what it is is a lisence, the only difference is you need a parent or guirdian in the car with you whenever your driving. When your 16 you can take a driving test to get a liscence. But to take the road test you need 10 hours of driving in the day and 5 hours of night-time driving.
Sorry, i can't explain it too well...

It means that you can drive as long as you have an adult in the car. You need the permit before you can get your actual license.

If you don't know the answer, pick the longest choice. Most of the time the longest is the right one.

OT: Whatever, what's easy to some is hard to others.

The problem with the driver tests is they are very technical that no one actually follows (like "how far do you need to be from someone to turn off your brights"). The only way to get them right is to study and forget them after you pass. And just a warning since I know people who have had this happen: don't tell the driving instructor it's the law for them to buckle up since they exempt from that law (the tester would not buckle up and mark off half a persons points to anyone who told him it was the law for him to buckle up).

edit: the point is the most useful information for driving comes from experience and not a rule book like the DMV makes you think.

Well, just really try and study hard like everyone else is saying.

Although, it could be hard depending on what country you're in. Here in the States it's nothing but trick questions and random info, but at least you can fail 8 out of the 50.
Where I live it's 20 questions, and you can fail up to 5 of them.

I get my Ls (Learners) in 18 days. I've heard from everyone that the test is easy, then again, we're in a different country, so it's probably different. We don't have a driving test for learners, we just have a written.

Oh, I'm Australian by the way.

I took Driver's Education in the USA and we have both a written and a driving test. (Though if you get three or less questions wrong on the written, you don't have to take the driving test.)

I found that most of the question were common sense--except when they got into the technicalities about semis (lorries) and stuff.

Just study the book and try harder.

It took me 2 times to pass the theory part (failed the first test by 2 marks). Just spent the night before the theory test going over mock theory tests over and over and over again, ended up getting 100% in the theory part of the test the 2nd time round.

However the driving test was another matter. Took me 3 tries, you've gotta really drive carefully and be more than a little bit lucky. Managed to pass it on monday though :)

Moral of the story is: don't give up! :p

In Missouri, you answer 10 questions for a permit, and can only miss 2.
I missed 1.
You, sir (OP), need to study more and take your time with the test.

The permit test in Arizona is a joke. I skimmed over the book the night before and only missed one question about the penalty for DUI.
