cherenkov (sp?) radiation, that is the blue glow that comes off of a nuclear reactor submerged in water, moves slightly faster than the speed of light.

edit: "google" is a real number, and that a googleplex is a google to the google power.
sorry but im gonna have to one of your facts
cherenkov radiation moves faster than light "through a medium" so if light travels at 0.75c it can travel a bit faster like 0.8c
oh and for anyone wondering a google is 1(one hundred zeros)

now for mine: if an atom was the size of the MCG (sporting gound) the nucleus would be a pea sitting in the centre and electrons would be little flecks of dust floating through the stands
and if you removed all the extra spcae in an atom, the average human would be the size of a flea but with their original weight

The speed of light is not the fastest possible speed in the universe. There exists a whole new level about the speed of light. This is Tacheyon (spelling) speed. It is simply proven by the conjunction of two proofs. 1. Light has mass. This is true since light is part particle. Also, it slows down in dense matter rather than speeds up, as a waves normally does. Having proved light has a mass, we can assume that there is a mass smaller, from the proof that there is no largest number, which implies there is no smallest fraction.

Thus, something will always be faster than light.
Your "proof" depends on not being "Reductio ad Absurdum". The Planck scale [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck_units] may be where everything goes from nice continuous units to discrete units. Thus there is a Planck mass [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck_mass] (which may or may not be the discrete unit of mass), and thus your hypothesis is untestable.

...also, light only has rest-mass. This is the mass that it would have if it were stationary (which the Uncertainty Principle [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncertainty_principle] tells us can never happen). And just because it behaves 'like a particle' sometimes, doesn't mean it always will; the result depends on how you observe the light.

Cockroaches can live for a few weeks without their heads, they can also withstand nuclear war.

It's a common misconception that Walt Disney was cryogenically frozen after his death, he was never frozen, he was cremated. The first known cryogenic freezing procedure took place a month after his death.

True, I cannot, one of my friends at school Ben can though, I'll even get a video of it after the holidays if you want.

It's also a neuron signal times ten. Pain is literally feeling something too hard.
No it isn't. Pain is literally pain. You have different sensory neurones for it. Due to these different neurones pain travels slightly slower than touch. Hit yourself on the hand with a hammer, you can feel the hammer come down a split second before it hurts.

Tachyons are entirely theoretical and so don't really exist. And now they're being modelled more as fields than as particles, so they tachyon particle doubly doesn't exist.

Yes, they're fantastically hard to kill. But in terms of radiation resistance they suck. Yes, 6-15 times the rads of a vertebrate is pretty impressive. But that's because we suck even more. It's all about the wasps.

The human mind cannot extend beyond its own dimension and therefore anything you can imagine is (however minutely) possible.

What are they putting in the water??
It probably has more to do with sprinklers that the water.

Doesn't that assume that we know what sentience is, and that it can't expand beyond its own dimension? Sure, it makes sense but is empirically untested.

A lot of insects can do that. Mainly because the nerve net responsible for monitoring their bodily functions isn't located in their heads but rather spread out in their entire body. The reason why insects who've had their heads cut of die, is mostly due to starvation. (it's hard to eat if you don't have anything to chew your food with)

Human beings perceive a series of still images being displayed at 30 frames per second as a continuous moving image. (The "persistence of vision" effect.)

For most birds, this would require 120 frames per second.

Eating 25 kilograms of chocolate has the same effect as 1 joint. Learned that through a Health class drugs project 5 years ago, never forgotten it.

I have a lót of random facts in my head, but most of them only come out when triggered by something, this one being one of the few exceptions.

Pain is a bodily sign that something is wrong, except for in childbirth.
To say that pain doesn't exist is to ignore the entire science of our nervous system.

The latter is questionable. They can withstand 13 times the rads that humans can, but there are creatures far more capable of living through radiation.

Male mosquitoes are vegetarians, only female drink blood and pass malaria.

"Same effect" in what way? Fattening qualities? Life expectency? Happy feeling? Ability to find everything hilarious?
