The ending of Portal 2 may have just been spoiled for me by some horrible asshole... I'm having something of a crisis; here's Portal 2, one of my most highly anticipated games EVER, and poof, just like that, the whole experience is ruined in one fell swoop... I'm not sure if it was true (like I said, the guy belonged to the group commonly referred to as "scum of the internet"), but I'm taking no chances. Portal 2 arrives for me from Amazon on the 26th (at the earliest), and I don't know if I can last a whole week without stumbling onto some spoilers (even by accident).
So I decided to ask the Escapist, are there any tips you guys can offer as to how I can avoid spoilers?

Also, on a side note, I've learned from previous experiences. Anyone who decides to be a massive dick and post spoilers will be reported. Thank you.

EDIT: Thank GOD. Turns out they were all just jokes... I half figured that since it was kinda far-fetched, but still... Anyway, I got a clean slate now, so I'll just try and stay out of ANYTHING remotely Portal-related...

Hmm, lets see.
You don't want to find spoilers for Portal 2? Then don't go into threads about Portal 2.

I ignored every news article and I played it when it first came out, like first hours.
Other than that, ignore everything about it.
It got spoiled for a friend, but I convinced him it was just a joke.
Pretend it didn't happen.

Someone needs to spoiler the ending of portal 2 in this thread. I'd do it, but I couldn't care less about portal 2. So I won't bother

funnily enough, you'd be suprised where spoilers pop up...
hell, Red Dead was spoiled for me in a random YouTube comment... I think the only connection it had was that it was a video about video games... but yeah, here's hoping I still know nothing about the story when it shows up around the 26th...

Order digitally when possible and avoid ALL threads, articles, reviews, trailers, employees, advertisements, ghosts and really, any data at all related to the game you're about to play.

Especially when it comes to Portal 2. Every plot point in that game is a spoiler, so GO UNDERGROUND IF NECESSARY.

You basically can't avoid spoilers while in the internets. So... Why are you still here?

The ending to Portal 2 is long (and awsome), so even if somebody spoilt a little bit for you I doubt they spoiled the entire thing unless they sat you in a chair, propped your eyes open and forced you to watch it. Even if they did tell you one of the better sections of the incredible final scenes, it wouldn't make much sense without the build up and context of the rest of the game.

As for avoiding spoilers, just avoid looking at things about the game. If a thread starts to go towards Portal discussions, bookmark it and come back once you've played the game. If a magazine article is talking about it then fold the page over and read the rest later. Don't read comments on things such as youtube for a week, as soon as you see the word Portal somewher it shouldn't be, it's probably somebody trying to sneak up on you with a spoiler so look elsewhere. It's only a week.

Stay off the internet.
Exactamundo.

Spoilers are inevitable true, but you can prolong being exposed by not visiting such gaming websites or Youtube.

Hell, you know some idiot ran home with is preordered copy and set up his camcorder so he could start the Let's Play before everyone else. At least the Something Awful LPSF has the decency to wait three months.

its simple avoid anything and everyhtign related ot the game..be very very very careful

thats what I did with DA2....but its still ruined for me because of all the hate (I know nothing of the details) but really thats my fault for being on the espcaist

I really should be on the internet less to still have that magical feeling when I play a game with no prior knowlege
