How can I watch Ponies and keep a clean conscience?

You know when I watched something on youtube I never really thought about how it means they don't get revenue for it. I guess I was just kinda thoughtless and took it for granted.

Buy a shirt, watch that guilt fly away.

As far as I'm concerned, the four $25 licensed t-shirts in my closet satisfy my moral obligations very thoroughly.

Watch it on YouTube and buy some of their toys, I'm pretty sure they have THAT over here in Canada. Which really makes me wonder why you can't buy the show here, we air the show on TV, we have all the damn merchandise they make the real money off of, what's the issue?

They probably just don't consider Canada a large enough market to bother. Either that or licensing this stuff is more complicated than we know, which isn't impossible I suppose.

I have the problem that I live in the UK and thus can't get ponies outside of YouTube. I made up for it with tiny figures, badges and a couple of tshirts. Also I made myself a Papercraft Doctor Whooves. No one got any more for that though.

If you don't live in the United States, this really is your only semi-legitimate option.

There are no legal way to get Friendship is Magic other than on The HUB cable channel which only broadcasts in the US with a particular cable TV package.

If you're feeling rich, order official merchandise online from places like WeLoveFine.com which has licenses to use the FiM Intellectual Property even though a lot of it is fan designed (EQUESTRIA10 for 10% discount).

If you still feel rich after that send me your money order toys from eBay. Searching for "brushable [pony name] friendship is magic" will give you the larger toys with nylon hair. Searching for "blindbag [pony name] friendship is magic" will give you smaller (about 4.5 cm tall) all-plastic injection moulded figures which are closer to 'show accurate' (that is, closer to what you see on TV). Note only the Mane Six will be available with a few other background ponies.


If after that if you continue to feel your money is weighing you down, there are more indirect routes for you to get funds back to Hasbro:
Custom toys - toys that have been modified by other bronies to be very show accurate. Mostly found on eBay.
Custom apparel (shirts, badges etc.) - etsy.com will have a lot, just browse for what you want.

EDIT: iTunes overseas (i.e. Europe) will have FiM as soon as certain broadcast contracts expire in that territory.

First of all, thanks for making a pony thread that only really bronies can come to and give a good awnser!

Secondly, as everyone has said. Go buy merchandise, that is where Hasbro gets most of it's money from. So go buy one of those massive Celestias and a few blind bag ponies

[EDIT]Also, a way you can contribute to ponies is to make good content, paint a picture, make a PMV and maybe even write a fanfic. Every piece of pony community created content makes a few bronies, which leads to more of a chance of them buying merch.

Welcome to the herd mate Oh yeh, be careful. You need to space watching the first two seasons out carefully, because if you don't you'll end up watching every episode in two days then having to wait a week between each episode.

I first saw it on tv a couple months ago to see what all the hype about it was, and I found it to be absolutely hilarious.

It's so delightfully disturbing, alot of subtle humor is in that show.

Also, having the guy who played Q from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" playing a being similiar to Q was awesome. I kept expecting to suddenly hear Patrick Stewart.

It's okay to like the show.
