It's called "reinventing the social media of our time".

But when someone else does it, it's called plagarism.

When has anyone said that George Lucas reinvented the social media of our time?

Is he talking about how Star Wars is basically Dune with all the hard parts cut off?

I can't think of too much else.

What? Once again, another person makes a thread where there is no discussion.

Play the OP off, keyboard cat!

What ARE you talking about? Perhaps if you provided more details and maybe a example or two possibly with links, then maybe we could understand what the hell you're talking about.

I heard George Lucas called many things.

Though most of it was unsuitable for childrens ears.

Because when he "remasters" a film he ethers owns the IP or he has the right to the IP. I wish he'd stop, but it is perfectly legal.

I THINK the person is talking about how Star Wars: A New Hope is supposed to be heavily influenced by Akira Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress. The plot, the plot from the point of view of the lowly characters (the robots/peasants) and the wipe edit effects are supposed to have been lifted by Lucas for Star Wars.

Or they could have just mistaken "George Lucas in Love" for a documentary.

Lucas is open about his influences and even went on to pay his dues by producing an Akira Kurosawa movie. That is just not plagiarism and is actually pretty cool behaviour.
