Something happened to me tonight that made me ask myself "How could I be so stupid?"

Its cold here in Australia right now, so I made myself a nice cup of hot (re: scalding) tomato soup. I then proceeded to take a big gulp and burn my lips, gums, the inside of my mouth and yes, even my teeth.

Not done yet...

A week ago at one of my jobs in which I work security, I see this one fellow in a white shirt eying me off. Turns out it was my reflection in the window.

Same thing happened when I was 10, caught my reflection in a store window and thought some kid was trying to stare me down. Took almost a minute to realize it was my reflection.

What has caused you to ask yourselves "How could I be so stupid?"

edit: I had to edit this post because I forgot the question mark.

When I was 7 (I know I was seven because I had just gotten my first pair of glasses that week) I was at the Australian Museum in Sydney with my grandmother and cousins. We had done the full circuit of the museum and we were at the end pretty much, when I thought I saw a doorway leading into another room we hadn't been to yet. I ran full tilt - into a heavy clear perspex screen. I rebounded off, bent my new glasses and earned myself a nasty headache. The divider was actually blocking a doorway that led back into the room I had just come from, and the only reason I had even come into this room in the first place was because I saw it THROUGH THE CLEAR DIVIDER that I would run into not 30 seconds later.

I tend to say that when I realise my mistake for not reading stuff slowly and carefully. The last time I did that was my English exam months ago (I misread a question) although hopefully I didn't mess up that bad.
