I understand it's history, and the annoyance I have caused to dozens of escapees, yet I still cannot see how this simple idea has got so very big?
4chan, although very popular on the internet and with the internet fraternity, cannot be used as the reason for the millions who play and suffer. What amazes me are the people who have no idea of 4chan yet are still veterans of the game.
THe willingness for people to join the game staggers me. It's a silly, simple idea, and that has helped it. But again, i'm confused, as it is far too popular for the word of mouth to make it speed around the planet as quickly. Here in Britain we are mildly infected by the game virus, and so if you are on a bus and shout 'game!' about 5% of people will go 'aahh tosser' under their breath. But these people arent even all under 25, the age group you'd, maybe naively, expect.
SO, how has this game got so big, from 3 guys stuck in a train station, to people saying it as they cough to annoy their friends in maths class?
