An extra second is being added to world clocks today: (or yesterday, or whatever)

It's because the rotation of the Earth is getting out of sync with official world clocks.

In retrospect, I do appreciate being given a second chance/second. While it was a difficult choice, I reluctantly chose the wise option of eating a delicious ice-cream. Flavours you may never comprehend, if you are truly imaginary as the voices keep saying. Assuming you are not, there is honey and chocolate. And ice-cream. In one second. Perhaps.

you know what REALLY bothered me about the movie? at the end, they're flying through space, and then Marvin says something like "isn't it at the other end of the universe?" at which point they stop, turn around and go the other way...

the restaurant is at the end of TIME not SPACE, changing directions has NOTHING to do with whether or not you're going "the right way". it was such a cheesy, poorly written joke that has haunted me since my four times seeing it in theaters.
