The only Genres I tend to discount out of hand are the pop related ones, and even then there are a few I really like.

But yeah, pretty much anything from Reggie to Classical Beethoven for me.

and to make this relevant: I have at least one song from every genre of music I know of except gangsta rap. and country. technically I do have Devil Went Down to Georgia, but that's too cool to call country.

Jazz, Electronic, Classic Rock, Metal, and Alternative. I like most music as long as it's not Hip Hop, Rap, (most) Country, or Pop. Exceptions for all cases though.

Iron Maiden/Metallica/Kiss/the Beatles/....So not very diverse. Also as long as a song has soul and meaning to it, I'll listen passionately.

Also, I hate metal elitists, not just on the internet but the ones that annoy you at school, I don't give a shit if you think "Avengened Sevenfold sucks!". Sheesh, people these days can be such ignorant assholes.

I have classical, rock, pop, rap and a dash of jazz on my iPod, and I love it all! Classical's good study/ relaxing music, ambient stuff.

I typically stick to rock and electronic, with a bit of metal and alternative tossed in.

NEVER rap or country though. Or anything along those lines. Just not my style.

My music diversity stretches to all good music. I used to say that I wouldn't listen to rap, but then I found a number of rappers that were great. I said I wouldn't listen to country and ended up finding a few that I could relate with.

There is only one genre of music that I find it even a little difficult to enjoy. That genre would be death metal. The reason I have difficulties with it is because I was raised in a very musical household(choir music) and I recognize what the lead singers are doing to their vocal chords. This makes death metal almost painful for me to hear.

That is a great set o' bands there! I'm glad to finally find someone else who listens to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

As for me, I'm not too diverse in my musical tastes but I think I do alright. The vast majority of what I listen to consists of Alternative, Rock, Hard Rock and Metal. Classical, Rap, Hip-Hop and [small]a little Country[/small] make the list too. I really enjoy playing some freestyle Jazz and/or Funk with my band, which is what we do best, but not big on listening to it. "Christian Rock" sucks musically, for the most part, but I really enjoy a lot of Praise & Worship stuff.

My main genres are mellow rock, anything progressive in nature, and European Metal. But I have a ton of music all over the spectrum from classical to jazz to electronic. I mostly judge a band based off their musical talent and if I can connect in some way with the music(musically or lyrically), although I'm not a music snob and do enjoy a good catchy song on the radio. Most importantly, it comes down to if it sounds good to me, regardless of genre.

While I can listen to Country and Rap( and due to certain friends I can sing a long with most of them on the radio) I have 0 country and a few rappers in my collection. Same goes with a lot of the more poppy rock bands, I just don't connect with what they sing about and since most them are lyrics driven I ignore them.
