I am 21 and live in Las Vegas and I want to know how do I get a girlfriend? I currently live with my dad at the moment and I go to college there. But I get kind of lonely and would like to have a girlfriend. I've never been in a relationship or had a first kiss. I never really leave my house that much unless it is to go shopping or go and do something with my dad in downtown once in a while. I never leave to go on the bus since its like 6$ to use. It is 3$ for a two hour pass and another to get back if I want to stay more than 2 hours. I tried online dating like OkCupid or Plenty of Fish. But I never get anyone to respond to me. I may have gotten like 3 replies from OKcupid but that is about it. I would like to get some advice on how to get a girlfriend?

The advice that I got (which I haven't followed myself) is to get a hobby that involves meeting other people.

I'd echo Twinrehz's response. Except don't explicitly look for a girlfriend. Look for friends, and people you can enjoy company with. You don't get a girlfriend to deal with loneliness, you get friends. There's a couple of reasons why I suggest this:

- Meeting people paves the way for meeting more people, some of whom may be girls, and you may find mutual interest between some of those. Even if you're not big on putting yourself out their socially, knowing people who do is a great and easy way to meet others. I'm not particularly social either, so I met my current girlfriend as a friend of a friend, and we hit it off really well.

- If you do end up in a relationship, nobody wants to be their partner's everything. It's an awful lot of pressure, and you can't rely on one person for all of your social needs.

- As someone who has gone through periods of time where I barely talk to anyone, you can get out of practice for interacting with people. If you want to meet someone, you'll have better luck if your social skills aren't dulled from unuse

Well you need to socialize, people can't meet you if you aren't there. And yes it will be awkward, it will be torture, expensive even but that is the minimum level of investment this shindig takes.
If you aren't willing to make the effort then this shit will not work out, no one has even won a bike race while refusing to ride a bike... or attend.

Las Vegas? You can legally pay for a girlfriend, right, at least temporarily...

Serious answer: meet more people. Find some fun social activity. Also, I once read that the workplace is the second most common place to meet a partner; get a part time job perhaps if you don't already work?

But if it doesn't work, then I'll have improved myself for nothing!
